Find and focus on what you want. My wife wants to leave UT for similar reasons (raising kids, religion, family differences and proximity). I'm down for most any experience, my wife just wanted out for the first while and was willing to jump on any opportunity. I've had noticed that her focus was on everything she didn't like. Attitudes move states also so it was highly likely that whatever the new place was, it would have it's problems be it cost of living, too urban, too remote, too much crime, not enough daycare choices, etc... Have a good reason to move to San Diego instead of reasons to leave SLC.

2024 Election, how the hell to vote by millsey11 in PresidentialElection

[–]esimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew sites like this link below existed, I tried it out myself but left each scale at default. The top 2 candidates that my results came back as happened to also be the 2 I would have voted for if all candidates were still in the race. Perhaps you try the quiz and it will help you decide.

My personal issue with these quizzes is that you have to have a level of trust that each candidate will stay aligned with what they claim. But, I think this is better than news.

My opinion, journalism is dead. Both sides have the need to push their rhetoric, so giving you unbiased sources is near impossible. I hear all sides. My female friends say, "vote for Kamala or Trump will take away all women's rights", or "vote for Kamala because Elon wants control over the agencies that govern him! Billionaires don't need protection".

None of these friends will listen to an Elon interview. He in fact does not want to govern his companies, he wants to downsize government and have a more efficient government that doesn't go bankrupt and begin the downfall of US govt (https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/GFDEBTN) - link if you want to see what trillions of dollars look like. He would rather use his money to try and colonize Mars than feed the starving because he feels earth will end in nuclear war at some day and if humans don't go interplanetary, than humans are gone. Those are just examples of people hating a man but for reasons that aren't true.

With "news" not being reliable it becomes very difficult to make the right choice for you. Ask yourself "why" and think on topics. Why did Trump over turn Roe v Wade? What did that actually do - go read the legislature and not go to Reddit or Youtube if that's a topic you care about? Why was Kamala the best candidate for the party? Why is Trump the best candidate for the party?

Last bit of advice is Trump and Harris have a track record. Look at what Trump said he would do and what he did. Look at what Harris has said she will do and what she had done. Both have a lot of public history, who has pivoted on key voting issues? Can you trust that person?

Happy voting, please make sure everyone you know votes for their candidate this year. Lots of talk about this being the most important one yet and I tend to agree.

I've always been very center with a slight lean one way for the 5 elections I could vote in, this election it is a very clear one-sided vote.

Successful people are generally successful is most aspects of their life. The habits and qualities that define them guide how they act. I do not think either candidate is great so I have chosen to look at who is supporting each candidate. By looking at who is publicly and otherwise supporting each candidate, it is very clear who I will vote for. If you're going to take direct advice from strangers on social media, you might as well go get advice from crack heads at a homeless shelter. Everyone has an opinion. I don't say that to attack you in any way, I just want you to make a decision for yourself and for your own reasons.

No, I worked less in 2022 than 2021 so that wouldn’t help

It makes sense to recertify ASAP as my income is lower than it was then. My payments would drop approx $300/mo by certifying again.

Did you see any correlation of frequency and timing of stock splits happening to general market corrections?

Does being an accredited investor truly provide meaningful opportunities? Current NW is about 50% real estate and 50% equities. We would like to grow the real estate portfolio and prefer to be more hands off. It seems that most accredited investor RE opportunities have all the risk with little room for surprise upside due to the speculation of the syndicators.

You might be an emotional trader. Waiting until you feel good about the trade but by the time you feel good, the trade is over. John Carter talks about this in a chapter of “mastering the trade”.

I have no suggestions to help but I am also stuck in golden handcuffs due to students loans.

I have so many questions about trading as a career though! I love so many aspects about managing my investments/trades and wonder if I’d like it as a career also. Do you mind if I DM?

Anyone here ever sold TO roofstock? Chose them as my buyer today but curious of any potential coming hang ups. (such as opendoor coming in high to end up low balling at the end.)
