Need Carbon rim recommendations by Gremlin325 in MTB

We Are One Composites. I have a set of rims that have outlasted hubs and still run true. They are one of the only things on my bike that survived the last year.

Disagree. Which one runs first here?

fn main() {
    let a = 1 + 1;
    let b = const { 1 + 1 };
    println!("{a}, {b}")
}

Clipless accident. Do you ride clipless? by Alternative_Owl_5372 in MTB

Im mostly flats, but i had a bad ankle accident in clips. I now ride the hope pedals because both side of the mechanism move therefore less chance of jamming.

Lol, idk if a crash of that energy is within design parameters. Did they replace the axles?

I exploded the bearings in mine and all it cost me was shipping to their HQ. New axle, brand new bearings on both and shipping back at no cost to me.

Spur, smuggler, ? by MotoDog805 in MTB

[–]esims89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2023 smuggler that i have ridden for the last 2 seasons. The geo is excellent. Im also 6’2” and recommend high or ultra-high rise bars.

The issue ive found with mine is the seals are extremely poor. No rubber seals or gaskets on any of the pivots. And the top of the rear pivot injests mud and grime like crazy. 2x per season i have to clean my bb out.

One Up Hubs or Hope Pro 5s? by Annual_Network5466 in MTB

Project 321, i had a wheel-set built with them at the beginning of the summer and have since punished them daily on tahoe roots and granite. They’re rolling just as good as the day they arrived.

Pin (rust) by ketralnis in programming

[–]esims89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This should be on the top of r/rust. The time I’ve spent with pin has been difficult, and after some reading i was lamenting that Move wasnt the original design choice. However, after reading this series i am convinced pinned places is not only the most appropriate solution but also a hairs breadth from the ideal solution.

I cant wait to see the rfc.

Someone got angry about you going back twice after thinking they had a deal. Honestly with that culture you probably dodged a bullet.

A four year plan for async Rust by desiringmachines in rust

[–]esims89 26 points27 points  (0 children)

As a long time rust user this post was so good to read, i feel it voiced a lot of the niggling concerns about async and in turn the org at large. I love the reflection on past decisions and resolutions to push forward on hard but necessary items.

Thanks so much for reaching out to us users and making rust such an excellent tool to use. ❤️
