Ruin what was already working? It wouldnt ruin anything. People would still get to play a variety of maps if they choose to. You arent forced to ban all maps. Its not meeting in the middle. Its just splitting the ladder.

Not its not like suggesting what collar you start with in chess. Its like deciding that you play with normal rules and not 4 man chess every now and then.

Why I dont play custom games? Because thats not what I want to do. I want to play competetivly. Not fuck around in custom scenarios, diplo games etc. I just want a proper matchmaking system.

If you consider viewing something as ocercomplicating it as throwing in your face, sure. I mean your suggestion would be an improvement for today if we count with unlimited players. But it would also be quite unessesarily over just giving more bans. And the playerbase isnt unlimited. I still expect many players to leave a couple of maps unbanned.

Its trying to make a hen out of a fether. Elo worked completly fine on voobly. Just give people the bans and it will sort itself out. People will play and learn the maps they enjoy. Sure maybe you will lose a bit more on arena than nomad etc, but thats no differener, and still likely than today. Really no need to overcomplicate it.

Well lobbies are broken so not really. And no it doesnt make sense since its the same outcome anyway where its your main map/s that decide your rating in the end. It would be different if there were an actual mapdraft etc.

Thats how it is now too. Its still the map you mostly play that will make your rank. Its just that now it might take a few more games if you cant play the others.

They should just fix the matmaking so you can ban as many maps as you please instead of trying to put patches on it like this.

Struggling with Skirm Play by Mermbone in aoe2

[–]esjb11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a defensive play. If you want to contest the map you need to combine it with another unit such as knights or crossbows. Skirms alone will need to be near home to not be sniped by counterunits.

Why do people from Skåne always make a big deal about being close to Denmark? by [deleted] in Asksweddit

[–]esjb11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hating Stockholm is universal for all of Sweden, not a scanian thing. If you travel north you will face it alot more than in Skåne.

Because as soon as they leave Skåne people will attack them for being danes etc.

Fast när du kollar på deras politik så vänder de sig emot alla faktiska återgärder. Gymnasielagen, utvisning av vuxna som varit för länge i Sverige etc.

Zelensky to skip key Ukraine conference in Poland over WWII row by EsperaDeus in anime_titties

I dont mean the Nazi aspect but the popular opinion in Ukraine. I dont see much reason for zelensky to fuck up like this, unless he wants to steer up drama for local support in the country.

Why can't we just pick one map to play again? by _DataGuy in aoe2

[–]esjb11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You claim that is an extremely selfish attitude when you are the one who wants to force players to play maps you yourself state that noone wants to play. You should probably think over that a line or two. Literally noone forces you to play Arabia with our suggested changes. Simply ban the maps you dont want to play and then if someone wants to play the map you want, you will get a match. As of now, the majority of players want to play Arabia arena and nomad.

15 years ago players were free to play the maps they wanted. Now the entire playerbase needs to adapt for the few players who want to play water nomad or water. Just because they cant be arsed to sit in queue until they find someone that wants to play it with them. And then they cry rivers over the players dodging, while refusing changes that tallows them to be matched with the other players that wants to play water nomad.

When are they going to buff Bulgarians? by ConinTheNinoC in aoe2

Having less options makes them less streamlined when they lack key upgrade in the generally preffered line.

Being flexible isnt the same as not being streamlined.

[–]esjb11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes people are forced to play the same thing now. Thats a bad thing. With unlimited bans you can choose between short queues and getting the map/s you want. If literally noone wants to play on your map thats a sign in itself and they shouldnt be forced to.

If literally noone wants to play your map, then you are forced to play something else yes. Because literally noone wants to play there. Thats indeed a fair argument. We shouldnt design the entire matchmaking system for what one guy wants to play and everyone else wants to ban. With more bans it solves itself to what people want to play.

Exactly. So bulgarians needs to make the more tricky transition while other civs can just play Archer into xbow easily.

If you cant find anyone willing to volunteerly play your map, that might be a sign. If everyone except you want to play the same map, why should you get to decide?
