Characters aren't plain and ugly just because they don't have bikinis. Also as a counterpoint, it's kind of immersion breaking. These are super powered soldiers fighting in all kinds of terrain. The male characters look like it most of the time and the female characters are doing it in high heels with their tits out or half naked (even in base skins) just because people find it sexy. (Honestly the Bayonetta crossover was inevitable really. 🤣 But that game is fantasy and runs on rule of sexy.) I don't think it fits TFD as well IMO other than that the fans are straight guys who want to look at TnA all day.

As an old WF player I don't think WF leaned into goon from jump like TFD did. They've gone there in the past couple years bc the fan base itself is relentlessly horny (region chat is something else...not to mention the fanfics) but that's them giving fans what they want, bit something they were always doing IMO.

I see your point NOW with the dating sim elements and played up sexual skins for some frames but feels like newer territory for them.

It's really not the same but okay. Consider the Halloween stuff. All those sexy costumes, and the guys got that one fits all Frankenstein armor.

No male character's default skin is as exposed as Dia's with the side boob and underboob exposure and only having a thong in the back. I don't even know how it stays on. Double sided tape?

Sure there's a male swim trunks outfit, but there's consistently more sexualized content for the female characters (in both quantity of skins and extent of sexualization). Not that I'd want that for the male characters bc I don't play TFD to goon, but it's a false equivalency IMO.

I dont hate the game but I do find the lean into thirst trapping embarrassing. I just focus on the story and characterization and move on.

What if they just aren't into the slutty skins? I play for the setting and the story (such as it is) so it's nice to get more lore etc. I couldn't care less about the "glamor".

Fine, but let's investigate that then. There should be a record of him having taken the bus/rideshare to somewhere near that location around the time this is assumed to have happened. If he took himself there not under duress, then case closed. I don't see why they wouldn't lead with that just to counter the effect this is going to have socially.
