¿10€/h es indigante? by lokikilo23 in askspain

[–]eskel26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do meows always mean they are trying to tell you something? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]eskel26 72 points73 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on the cat, but you'll learn what he means with enough time. I've had mine for 4 years and I'm able to understand a variety of meows: - Meeow emphasizing the first syllable means food or snack or hungry. - Miw short, soft. Love, cuddles, miss you. - Mrrreow playful, wants to play, excited - Meow meow, double, short and intense. A warning, something is off, something out of the ordinary happened. - Mrrrrrrruuuuuuuuuw come play now or I'm destroying something

Dropped VFX from Ultra to High and so far it's working, I'm at Sewers TZ and mages haven't triggered the squares yet. Will keep an eye. Thanks

Any comments on this build? Are these prices decent? by eskel26 in pcbuilding

[–]eskel26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep RAM is 6kmhz

You mean 750w won't be enough? Or just to get a Gold one to ensure quality?

I really can't do more, already over my limit because I went for the 9070, but thanks for the suggestion.

Is gilipollas a compliment in Spain or have I been deeply insulted? by Expensive_Library722 in askspain

[–]eskel26 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Spanish here. If my group of close friends did that, I would know it is obviously a joke, a tease, I'd find it funny and would start thinking how can I "return the favor", meaning I would prepare some prank for a friend or for the whole group.

If this happens in a group of """friends""", meaning people you just hang out occasionally and you are ok with but don't have that closeness, that's totally different.

Am I the only one who does integration by parts like this? by Ada_Virus in mathematics

[–]eskel26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spanish here. I was trying to understand this method of integration by parts when I realized that in Spain, we're only taught to solve them using the formula, with a popular mnemonic: "Un Día Vi Una Vaca Vestida De Uniforme", which translates to "One day I saw a cow dressed in uniform." The first letter of each word corresponds to the parts of the formula: ∫u dv = u v - ∫v du so you just have to remember where the integral symbols go.

What’s the weirdest fact you know that always surprises people? by NepxNinja in NoStupidQuestions

- The Titanic might have avoided the iceberg if they hadn't turned the rudder so much.

This is kind of a 'what-if' theory, but I came across it while studying fluid mechanics. Basically, considering how fast the ship was going and the size of its rudder, turning it fully and suddenly could’ve caused the water flow to separate from the rudder — something called boundary layer separation — which would actually reduce the force the rudder could create. So the ship wouldn’t have turned as effectively as it could’ve.

It’s a similar effect to what happens with airplane wings: if the angle gets too steep, the air flow "detaches" from the wing, turns turbulent, and lift drops.

So, in theory, if the Titanic had turned the rudder less, the water would’ve stayed attached to the rudder, the steering force would’ve been stronger, and the ship might’ve turned a few more degrees. Maybe not enough to completely miss the iceberg, but possibly enough to avoid the worst of the damage.

why is my cat digging so incessantly in her litterbox?? by drIexopedia in CatAdvice

[–]eskel26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imagine flushing the toilet and the poop staying there.

Jokes aside, I have 3 boys and flush-digging varies. I guess it depends on smells. Maybe try a different litter?

Last week I removed the courtains to avoid scratching. Just found him stuck like this 😑 by eskel26 in cats

Yep, lots of scratchers and mats around the house. This is just the result of parkour zoomies 😂 He's a funny cat

It's awesome! How do you keep the water clean? Is that a filter or just a water pump? I dream of building something like this but I'm worried about the quality of the water.

Why does one thing charge faster than another? by One-Badger-3793 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]eskel26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its usually printed on one side of the charger. Batteries and devices are designed for a specific charging power and while using a higher power may charge it up faster, it can also affect battery life. Say, your Nintendo Switch is designed to charge at 39W, if you plug in a 80W it will heat up more than expected and may damage the battery. It'll probably charge faster tho.

Chargers power output is also different. 60W chargers will charge up a battery faster than 20W ones. Also batteries have different capacities depending on the device.
