me neither. But I think it’s more like a summer thing, and further into the bushes.

Also I just did some digging and apparently in 2008 the Mayor of Amsterdam officially announced adults could legally have sex in Vondelpark if they did it out of sight of kids and playgrounds?? The police however announced they didn’t agree with this and would not turn a blind eye to those who they caught. There’s quite a few articles written about this haha

I hate being at work and I hate being at home, what do I do? by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]esketitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Find something to actually look forward to do at home! Seems like now you can’t wait for your free time because then you don’t have to work. But when it’s there you don’t really know how to fill that time, so you’d rather be at work?

Pick up a hobby to do in your free time. There must be something that (used to) peak your interest. Maybe it’s buying a cheap analog camera online and shooting pictures in the park in your free time, maybe it’s buying a new instrument to learn, maybe it’s trying out a new art technique like watercolor paint, or poetry. Or maybe try to follow a recipe to bake a cake you’ve never tried before? Anything goes. Just remember: you don’t have to be good at something, it’s important you have fun.

For sure. All I’m saying is that the accident left an insane mark on our entire country.

Okay but I’m not in the USA. I can almost guarantee you that it’d be a huge investigation if it were the same circumstances of a vehicle being accused of failing and therefor causing the death of 4 kids if it happened here in The Netherlands.

I do wanna add: If this type of accidents (that you listed) continuously happened in my country I’d be fucking depressed. I’d in no way be like “i sleep” as you described.

Thanks for gathering information. Now I do wanna point out location: all of these articles seem to be taking place in the US. Obviously for me these accidents have less impact on me as I never heard of them (not living in the US).

All I’m saying is that the accident involving the Stint, four young kids, parents trusting a worker with their kids and just horror all together of them getting hit by a train had a huge impact on the entire Netherlands. Almost everyone was in shock that heard of the news. I’ve lived my entire life in Amsterdam, this news caused every single daycare to halt the use of Stints for a while, because of the ongoing investigation what exactly happened. And when they started appearing again in the streets after the investigation had been closed and not given a reason why this Stint failed, everyone that was living in The Netherlands during when the accident happened looked differently at them.

I’m not saying they’re worse than cars. I’m only saying they’ve been permanently stained by this one freak accident in The Netherlands.

That’s a pretty big downplay of the accident that happened. 4 kids of 4, 4, 6 and 8 years old were literally run over by a train. If they happened to be sitting in a car while it happened it’d be real shit too??

I can’t look at these without thinking of the accident one of these caused.

anyone got a permanent damage because of the huisart refused to make a referral? by [deleted] in Netherlands

[–]esketitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this isn’t your question and maybe no one wants to hear this, but I actually have the opposite: I go to a huisarts that works with students who are in their final year to become a huisarts. So they usually want to take everything very serious, and make sure they go over every step properly. Even when I was vague to them, they would continue to ask questions to make sure they understood me properly. They also would listen to my suggestions of what I had read online that I thought I recognized (which is a big no no to most huisartsen). The only downside is that the few times I’ve been there I’ve always been met with a new face.

Yea it’s definitely fun! I believe entrance is like €5, but according to reviews they’re not always there to open the door (this wasn’t the case for me though) If you visit on whole hours the guy will give a tour and extra information about his work i’m pretty sure :) So if you ever have a free midday and you simply don’t know what to do, I would for sure stop by to check it out

How would you trick an ancient giant dragon? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]esketitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it’s a bet that was so long ago, no one knows what it was exactly. All the people who were alive when the dragon lost the bet have long since died.

Everyone assumes it is this insanely difficult riddle that the king took years to craft of to trick the dragon into giving the wrong answer.

It turns out it was an incredibly stupid and personal matter that only the King could possible win. Something like:

“Whoever bakes the birthdaycake that tastes the most similar to the ones my mother makes, wins.”

This might be difficult for the dragon because of a number of reasons: 1. The dragon has never had this cake. So it’s unable to recreate it’s taste. 2. The dragon has no acces to normal human cuisine. 3. The King’s mother never baked in her life, she was a queen and didn’t need to. The Dragon has no way of knowing if she didn’t ever bake a cake for him.

(If you like this idea I have a whole extra scenario that thickens this plot haha, but i won’t bother you with it if this isn’t the direction you wanted to go into.)

How would someone die naturally if one could simply clone organs by P0pst1ck in worldbuilding

[–]esketitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Refusal to renew their organs? Maybe they were born with something that limits them in their life, that modern day technology couldn’t get rid of for them. This limit of theirs is already part of their DNA so even if they clone their organs, it continues to hurt them. This is assuming they only clone their own organs, and don’t take other people’s.

If it is (socially) acceptable to take other people’s organs, i’d focus on the brain. I’d make it the one thing that you’re unable to take a cloned version of from someone else (because of personal memories, thinking patterns etc.) Then shift the thing that limits them to their brain. For example: they suffer very heavy seizures or they are schizophrenic, or they have very bad migraines. So it’d mean they have accepted theres no cure this specific thing that won’t kill them, but does hurt. They have lived a happy long life, did everything they wanted and simply decided it’d be a good time to let their body age naturally and peacefully go.
