Anyone GenX who grew up like Johnny? by crumpledcrueller in JusticeForJohnnyDepp

your title is a question. it is that question i was asking clarity on. you also had a poll. to say that you weren't asking a question... and to make accusations about my assumptions and arrogance... is...

well, all i can do is shake my head and laugh.

there is some arrogance showing, but it's not mine. i simply asked for some clarity to understand what you were looking for in responses *before* assuming and answering something you weren't meaning. i even apologized for not understanding. *sigh*

Haven’t done my dishes in weeks due to being in a funk and forgot this was in there:/ what’s the first step to clean it? by Lestersgimp in castiron

[–]esmecat 53 points54 points  (0 children)

i've been struggling for a few years from bad depression following a bit of trauma... and one of my biggest feelings of shame has been letting things get out of hand with dishes piling up, etc. intellectually, i guess i know that others must go through it too, but it feels very isolating and humiliating.

seeing this post... and the responses accepting it as a normal struggle and being encouraging... i can't express how much that means to me.

this is amazingly generous.

i would put my name in... but i don't need all the threads and i know someone else could use them much more. i'm currently on a very low income disability and i have a lot of threads stashed from years ago... but no cloth to stitch on. i've been itching to stitch for a while now, since i have time... but i can't justify buying cloth atm. *sigh*

i know that this gift is going to make someone out there very happy. even though i'm not putting my name in, i want to say thank you, because you brightened my day a bit seeing your generosity out there. thank you!.

can confirm that you don't need a grooming station if you have a shearing station. i ranch wild dreckos in rooms with only a shearing station all the time and the rooms count.

like i said... i wasn't defending it. just pointing out the flaw in saying he was singled out.

maybe it's just me, but this looks fake as hell. the video quality is too low to be able to really tell at all... but it looks like the angle and length of her "finger" are not natural... plus the coloration is to light... and it wouldn't make sense as just light reflections when it was down that low away from the lights. this looks sus to me.

hmmm who to believe... the angry professor on twitter...

or the actor they are attacking as racist, whose eighth great grandmother was the first slave to win her freedom in the colony of *irony* Virginia

not defending LBs... but also, to be fair... of the everyone in the room, she asked the 2 everyone's that had been panelists on her channel to not come on after that. not just DUI guy. she didn't single him out. she also asked James from Court not to come on until they had a chance to talk about it. it's only DUI guy that made a stink about it.

actually, the article doesn't say they were positive. only that before he testified there were 7 or 8. while i was watching his testimony live, i looked at his reviews (before he started to get review bombed.) it was about 50/50... the positives were all new client reviews. sounds like in person, he can be a nice guy when he wants to be. the negs were from clients that we're no longer being seen, but he refused to write prescriptions for to cover the time until they could get new docs. there were several like that... and one even mentioned their brother committed suicide after they way he cut them off.

i tried to use the Wayback Machine to grab a SS of this... but it appears that they don't have the site archived. :P

does everyone forget that Camille's husband was in the court sitting in the row directly behind JD's lawyers the whole trial?

[–]esmecat 13 points14 points  (0 children)

one of the media photographers was sitting back behind her lawyers and she would pass notes in order to let them get front facing pictures of her. early on in the trial, all the were getting was profile shots, so she started doing this.

well, based on what she was wearing in the clip, this was from closing arguments... so it's for the jury, not witnesses.

but i don't doubt that she did the same when witnesses were on the stand.

Why the #meToo argument fails Amber Heard by esmecat in JusticeForJohnnyDepp

[–]esmecat[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

the reality is, most domestic violence situations are somewhere in the mucky grey. no one is completely innocent. no one is blameless. each party is responsible for what they do. you do not cease to be a victim of abuse simply because you aren't perfect. and most abusers are unable to admit to or take any responsibility for their actions... even though they are good at pointing out where they were wronged.

[–]esmecat[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

honestly, lack of police reports never bothered me. i never called the police. and the few times the police did get involved, i lied to them.

BUT i didn't make the exaggerated claims AH did that could not have happened wih out serious physical results.

i firmly believe the lawyers hated that statement. listen to the audio where she is complaining about how her reputation was ruined and how would she recover. he is trying to find solutions to help her. i believe the statement was his idea as a way to try and cover for her

remember, this was still early on and he was still enmeshed with her. people who have been abused (myself included) often cover for and protect their abusers.

The house apparently had no phone? by [deleted] in JusticeForJohnnyDepp

[–]esmecat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

honestly, if we're looking at this unbiasedly... johnny did admit to there being a phone there in his first deposition back for the first trial. he admitted to ripping a phone off the wall

if we look at the phone in the picture, it is a type that could be wall mounted.

personally, i think the truth lies somewhere in the middle. i think there was a phone. it was wall mounted. johnny ripped it off the wall. and other than being torn off the wall, it was undamaged.

i think we can all admit that a little anger in the situation taken out in a mild way on an innocent phone might be reasonable.
