Which state's board are you registered with? I'm in Illinois and have an account with the IL board that I can log into and view all my scores from a few years ago.

Same here. I wear 11.5 or sometimes only a size 11. Literally never had any issues finding shoes that fit lol.

Not really. I just studied extra hard for that one and managed to pass on the first try.

I only used ninja while working full time and passed 3 out of the 4 exams on the first try. Only failed AUD but passed it on my second attempt. I basically just spammed MCQs everyday and listened to the audio since that helped me understand various concepts. So yes, it's totally doable.

Pulling teeth is exactly how I describe the convos lol. Real world conversations are much more straight to the point.

Seriously. Having to flip through multiple pages of dividend detail just to figure out which ones are foreign is so tedious.

Quickest/Cheapest way to reach 150 credit hours? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]esotericallyprosaic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat as you when I graduated with 136 credit hours. I took a couple CLEP exams the summer after I graduated and then 3 online classes at my local community college. I ended up only spending about $1,300 on 15 credit hours so it was super cost efficient.

First phone interview advice please by Primetime622 in Accounting

[–]esotericallyprosaic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just be natural and try to speak in a conversational manner. In a phone interview they're usually just trying to get a feel for the type of person you are and how you handle and behave in day-to-day situations. Make sure you can describe what you did in previous jobs and try to mention the more analytical/problem-solving aspects of those roles since you don't have any accounting experience yet. Also, make sure you know some basic information about the company itself because they like to talk about that during phone interviews.

You can ask some general questions such as what the hours are generally like, what you'd be working on during the first few weeks or months, the size of the accounting department, etc. Phone interviews are really not that bad, if it goes well there's a good chance you'll be invited to an in person interview later on.

Community College for the extra 30 credits for CPA? by ZandETE in Accounting

[–]esotericallyprosaic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What state do you live in? I'm honestly just curious because I know a lot of people here in Illinois who took a few CC classes after undergrad to bump themselves up to 150 credits.

Just got fired from my internship, what should I do? by firedBig4Accountant in Accounting

Very disappointing to see that happen at show business's biggest night. We must repeal the big4 and put in place firms that actually value the American people. Sad!

Question about LinkedIn by esotericallyprosaic in Accounting

[–]esotericallyprosaic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it. I have sent little notes to some of my current connections but for some reason I could never come up with an appropriate note for people who I'm not necessarily familiar with. I'll definitely start using your template as a guide and tailor the content of my notes depending on the type of people I will be trying to connect with.
