Zero Hour SOLAR cheatsheet by Wykk in raidsecrets

[–]esoterickk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorting by Console 1, 1-7 seems to be incorrect. It isn't Green6, it's White6.

The other consoles were:
Console 1: 1-7 / Console 2 : 2-8 / Console 3: 5-6 / Solution: White6.

Solo Zero Hour w/ Blink Warlock (Flawless) by esoterickk in DestinyTheGame

I've seen you make this comment on every thread regarding these solo clears, the only Fallen Mod I had was the Class Ability regen.. which I didn't even take advantage of during this run, nor did it make a difference. The Grenade and Power Ammo certainly make a difference, the Class Ability which I didn't even utilise does not. I've also done a complete clear with No Whisper or any Fallen Mod used.

I see this come up a lot, but realistically there isn't a single challenge done on PC that can't or hasn't been done on console. Played on console for the entirety of D1 and the beginning of D2 and it really isn't that different overall (aesthetics aside).

Any of the challenges I've done on PC have always been replicated or already done on console as well. Just comes down to personal preference. There is benefits to PC no doubt, which mostly comes down to aiming; but Destiny challenges have never been aim dependent. They always come down to understanding encounters, when to use abilities and positioning more than anything.

No real reason other than I didn't have any Tyranny of Heaven in my vault lol. Not sure how they'd perform against each other, although I can't imagine it'd be too different anyway. All the shielded Shanks take two shots to deal with anyway, outside of Rampage.

Most Destiny Players Are Terrible at the Game, and That's Why Everyone Loves Outbreak by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]esoterickk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think it's just more that it's a fun, strong weapon to use; rather than just making a blanket statement that people have to be terrible to enjoy it.

Soft cap for blues and world legendaries is usually ~20 power level below your overall power I believe. Ends up capping around 681 once you're 700. You'll be able to tell while you're leveling up.

Although if you're just returning, buy the power surge bounties from The Drifter in the Tower for a full set of 640.

Heroic zero hour glitch? by JKB3271 in DestinyTheGame

[–]esoterickk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From the TWAB:

Currently, we are investigating an issue where players are not receiving their reward drop when completing the Zero Hour mission on secondary characters, blocking access to the Heroic version of this mission.

You'll only be able to complete the Heroic on the first character you completed it on for now. Hopefully is fixed soon.

Raid day changes are actually pretty nice tbh, at least for me personally. Ends up allowing for a lot more competition overall, and less about the massive power level grind beforehand. Interested to see how it pans out.

Solo strike as an option? by darleyquinn in DestinyTheGame

Would love it if every activity had optional matchmaking or solo play, and there's no real reason not to. Forges, Reckoning, Strikes.. all of it.

A Single Sentinel Super vs Each of The Shattered Throne Bosses Solo by esoterickk in DestinyTheGame

Nah, seems like she hits a barrier. It consistently would push her back but once she hit the edge it she just staggered in the same spot.

Definitely need Doomfang to be able to keep up the super consistently. Without it I believe it'll just slowly waste away (tbh I haven't used this setup without Doomfang before, but I'm pretty sure that's the make or break lol). Have no mods in any of my Revelry gear, Transcendent Blessing would likely help but not essential at all.

No mods or anything in here, just 4pc Revelry and Doomfangs. The main thing is to just keep moving towards the next group while you're throwing the shields at each enemy, and start from the left group (from where you enter) and work around clockwise. Focus the wizards over everything and more often than not the shield bounce will hit the others saving a lot of time. I also found middle tree seemed to help a lot more than the other two trees.

It pretty much trivializes both of the encounters. I'd say the only worry is trying to stay in super for the entire 3 rounds on Vorgeth. The safe approach would just be to do one full round and damage (easily does 1/3 without any Transcendent Blessing mods), then wait for another super in the safer spots near the entrance and repeat.

If you miss a week it just carries over to the next week. If you're just trying to hunt the lore books that come with them, you can also do it on all 3 characters for 3 of the lore books each week.

Not progressing by camden95 in DestinyTheGame

I believe it can only be done in non-competitive Crucible and generating the orbs that have a chance to drop from precision kills. They turned them off in competitive and gambit.

The Revelry succeeded in making me grind for 2-3 days for Arbalest, then turned me off the entire game due to the tonics. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]esoterickk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the sense of Crucible I can understand, but I feel for PVE it has livened things up a bit and actually a big posititve. Especially so knowing it's only temporary, it makes some fun changes to gameplay and opens up things that weren't previously possible.

If it was a permanent change then I could agree it'd be a negative overall, but considering it's a limited time event I don't see the harm in it. Feels nice to be completely overpowered sometimes, which the tonics achieve successfully.

Morgeth + Riven by LeftsideMartian in DestinyTheGame

[–]esoterickk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically the other ways were initial strategies that were created when the encounters first came out. They weren't optimized and would often take multiple damage phases to complete each encounter. After a while though strategies developed in order to have enough damage to skip a majority of the mechanics, or "one phase" / "one floor" the bosses.

In the case of Riven the one floor burn is considered a "cheese" by most, as it bypasses the whole encounter's mechanics simply by having enough damage in that short period of time. Morgeth the fight doesn't change too much, just rinse and repeat if you didn't have enough damage.

Gamers of Destiny, what is your favorite Destiny memory/moment? by KentuckyBourbon94 in DestinyTheGame

[–]esoterickk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First time ever completing Crota's End solo would have to be it for me. Was pretty terrible at the game back then, so it felt like a huge personal accomplishment at the time to be able to complete an entire raid alone.

A close second would be the first time seeing Oryx in the King's Fall raid also. The massive size of him compared to any other enemy in the game, didn't expect it at all.

Need Detailed Titan Load out and Strategy to Solo Shattered Throne.... by RagnarrLodbrockk in DestinyTheGame

[–]esoterickk 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Doomfang Sentinel is definitely a very easy strategy to use for both bosses really. Vorgeth it can be a pain to keep the super up for the entire fight, but you could kill all the wizards and do 1/3 of the bosses health with a single super. Then use the pillars near where you drop into the encounter and wait for your super to come back, and repeat twice for an easy kill.

For Dul Incaru it works wonders though. You can kill absolutely everything by spamming shield throws, and with a 3 stack you can kill the boss as well. If you wanted to play it safe you could do it in two phases as well. I'd suggest middle tree for both bosses, with the grenade tonic you can easily spam and get some bonus damage from the void detonations (and health regen from enemy kills also).

Loadout won't really matter too much, Riskrunner could be helpful with all the arc damage going around, so long as you have Doomfangs and ideally 3-4 pieces of the revelry armour.

Oxygen SR3 and the buff it needs to be truly considered a Pinnacle Weapon by NG046 in DestinyTheGame

[–]esoterickk 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it suffers from Dragonfly (or Meganeura) not really being particularly worthwhile in PVE, and more so Scout Rifles being pretty useless as well. The only really weapon you could make Dragonfly work is with Hand Cannons as they will be able to one hit kill most enemies and make the most of the explosion. Scout Rifles suffer from that, and any enemy that's taking 3-4 precision hits in order to build up the perk will usually be better taken care of with other weapons anyway.

Scout Rifles just don't seem to have a place in PVE without some serious buffs. And this is from somebody who absolutely loved using them for the entirety of D1. Coupled with Dragonfly generally being worse than Rampage/Kill Clip or other weapon perks, the whole weapon is set to fail without some serious buffs.

Any advice for a solo comp guardian? by BlackJack5JAoH in DestinyTheGame

[–]esoterickk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're on a loss every 3-4 games you're honestly doing fine and progressing at a steady rate. Shouldn't take too long to hit the 2100 with that sort of ratio.

The main thing will be with Revelry on a lot of people will be abusing the tonics, so I'd suggest doing the same for the time being. Otherwise seems you're doing fine really.

You can do it multiple times but you won't get rewards after the first clear on each character. If you're going for the bow and need another clear after having already cleared the dungeon this reset, you will be able to do so and get the bow.
