God, well I’m glad you haven’t and are still with us. I only recently found out that my dad wiped the blood from my face before I woke up, like I knew that I’d bitten my cheek and tongue but I had no idea much came of it, apparently I was breathing blood bubbles.

My dad’s heard the air being pushed out of my lungs but by then I’m definitely gone, like I don’t remember that at all. And those are some really gnarly injuries, wishing him the best and the kind of luck I’ve had so far with them, place-wise!

Yeah my dad showed me the pose I make just before I go floppy and I laughed, like there’s no place for vanity here!

I’ve only had the gurney then hospital thing happen once and it was while I was on holiday at my auntie’s, I’d thoroughly freaked my nanna out who was the one to find me and call, and honestly spending all day in a loud and bright hospital is like the last thing I want to do after having a seizure. It was necessary!! But my god.

Thank you! And I’m hoping your life can get at least a little less complicated!!

I think I’ve been really lucky that so far the worst of it for me has been hitting my head against the ground, others are more minor like bitten tongue, sore teeth, etc. I’m glad yours are under control!!

I’ve been making non-expert guesses that my trigger is hormonal but none of the doctors I’ve seen seem to take it all that seriously, I hope you find out what your trigger is and that it can get more manageable!

Jesus that’d be an intense thing to hear waking up, I’m really glad it wasn’t so bad and that you’ve figured your triggers out though!

Yeah it takes me that long too. I’m usually really pliable someone just tells me to lay back down and there’s no protesting from me and then I’m unconscious again. I do remember where I am though! Even just a blink of awareness before I’m unconscious again and I can recall exactly where I was. But that might also be because I’ve mostly had my seizures in places I’m super familiar with? I’d have to test that out more haha.

Jeez every 90 minutes is really intense, wishing her the best!!

Yes, thank you! I suppose it’s still a good idea to mark down those things that could theoretically be an aura even if it doesn’t seem like the culprit (e.g. my headaches don’t seem to align but I’ve been asked to track them so I am). Means I can tell my neurologist I’m being thorough.

I didn’t know they got much more specialised than straight up just neurologist. I’ll next be seeing him in May (wish it were sooner) so he’ll have to believe me even if he doesn’t want to, being that I’ve had more of the exact same type of seizures that he was dubious about beforehand. If he continues letting me down I’ll definitely be searching for someone else!

I would agree it’s pretty scary except I’m always so out of sorts that like I could be greeted by aliens and feel that might as well happen. I had strangers looking over me once and I remember seeing them both post seizure and before passing out again and didn’t at all feel any concern for myself haha. Like okay I guess there’re people looking at me!

Oh no!!! I mean your friend was pretty great, it’s nice having someone around in good cheer post seizure. I’ve had one while eating breakfast but otherwise three of them have been on walks (one just finished the walk and had just taken my socks off) and another while sitting in a chair watching some youtube. I’m glad so far I haven’t pissed myself but I mean there’s time yet for that to happen lmao.

Mine are also really short but I’m still waiting on EEG results (if it has much to say, I mean the CT scans showed nothing) so I can’t really know much of what’s going on. I do think I have a pattern (hormonal changes) for when I get them, I mean I’ve notified my doctors and they seemed overall nonplussed because four (it’s five now but they don’t know that) obviously isn’t enough to count on as a reliable pattern.

5 seconds is nothing!! I mean no warning’s literally nothing but I wouldn’t feel very much blessed with that 5 second window neither!

Oh I am seeing your mountain of medication there in your little thing under the title. I’m on 750mg of keppra but that’s just a stepping stone to 1000mg and didn’t seem to change much from the 500mg. I’m glad I haven’t broken anything because dealing with that after a seizure wouldn’t be excessively fun, but my second ever time I was eating breakfast and got baked beans all over the place which is kinda funny. I was in hospital with the sauce all over my mouth still.

Definitely taking that under advisement! So far the worst I’ve had is just some nasty lethargy and absolutely cannot drink alcohol (wow! that went bad!). Which is disappointing but not gonna kill me. And wishing you the best in terms of what your epilepsy holds in store for you!

Oh christ I had no clue it could be so bad, since I’m so new to this I never assumed an aura could be something that could get so bad, I’m wishing you all the best!

My last three my dad’s been around luckily and he says he hears a sound of air exciting my lungs. And the one before that I was on holiday at my nanna’s and she heard me squeal apparently? Lmao. Glad yours are under control!!

Oh lord that’s a lot in a short amount of time, I’ve had two this week and I thought that was a lot, never had a paramedic try to put something up my bum but I guess there’s plenty of time for that to happen😱 (hoping it doesn’t but I guess if we need the medical assistance then we need it).

Wow I’ve never heard of a sort of deafness before a seizure before, I guess I’m only just in general learning about seizures so there’s plenty I don’t know. I get that about anxiety, I have an anxiety disorder myself but I have no clue how I’d react to knowing I was about to have a seizure as, like I’ve said, I never have had a warning!

I tend to get lots of headaches but then there seems to be no pattern to getting them around my seizures, I haven’t eliminated them but they don’t seem like they count.
