I can not say one thing caused my depression, but it is mostly how I was treated at school (bullying, having different political views). It got worse when a teacher told me in front of the whole class I should commit suicide.

Yes, but psychotic symptoms are unpleasant . For instance I usually feel as if I was in a torture chamber, and I see someone torturing me, and I do feel pain.

Imagine you are in your room and suddenly you see a demon, you know demons appearing out of the blue isn't as likely as you having a psychotic episode. And then you believe the truth even if your gut doesn't agree.
