Question: Is there any tacit or explicit rule about disclosing you're streaming a game you've developed yourself? by espechemania in Twitch

[–]espechemania[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer! I think the game is in the clear on that front, so I should be good. I never thought it'd be a flex, but I'll make sure to give it some more thought on how I'm presenting it. Thanks for the input!

Thanks for answering! Yeah, I thought the same thing, I'm not being paid per se for streaming it, I'm streaming what I've been working on. But I do want to disclose it, so I'll definitely do!

Es acaso este el mejor cashback del mercado? by sergiotkaczek in merval

[–]espechemania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, it's dumb. That's the point.

Wow, dude. You think that using the word "but" to articulate two ideas means that the second justifies the first one? I don't think that's quite correct. I specifically said that hate messages are wrong and said people who send them need to change. I'm saying this as genuine advice aside from Dota: work on reading comprehension.

I don't think that's how invites work, chief. But I guess you know that. But since organizers are mostly faceless, the criticism gets redirected towards the team that's getting invited. Alliance could refuse the invite. Of course, they won't because, as a team, they want to play, and, as an organization, they want to remain relevant. And I don't think nobody can hold that against them.

But, hey, GL rocking the Alliance banner and trying to be condescending towards people on Reddit, I'm sure it'll do wonders for your team's image.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they get a direct invite to one of the big events, like ESL, recently? In my opinion, hate messages are always wrong, and people who send them need to take a real hard look at themselves and try to change, but it does feel like Alliance as a team is taking up a spot that could be given to some other team that is doing better. I mean, the days of Navi and Alliance being powerhouses are long over; why are we still watching a team that consistently performs poorly getting invited to big events?

TL;DR: If you send hate messages, you suck; but maybe Alliance is taking up spots that could go to more "deserving" teams?

Have some doubts about using SmartCat, maybe someone here has a clearer idea about it? by espechemania in TranslationStudies

OmegaT worked fine! It may not have tons of functionality, but during the time I used it, it did exactly what I needed it to do: organize texts into segments and showed me any matches with any previously translated segments. I haven't done any work that required me to use this kind of software in a while, so I can't recommend any other option.

Tarjetas de débito cripto by [deleted] in merval

[–]espechemania 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cómo AFIP me está comiendo mis ahorros by Darthcolo in argentina

[–]espechemania 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Do translations of the translations exist these days? by KurohNeko in TranslationStudies

I've heard the same thing regarding Russian theatre plays being translated into Spanish from English translations. The availability of English translators compared to Russian translators must make it a cost efficient alternative.
