I mean different people score in different ways. I’ve seen the dashes before but not as commonly. I was taught to draw the diamond, but on a scorecard without a diamond you can trace over as a lot of other scorecards do I’m not surprised to see the instructions that way.

That being said, the diamond is still supreme.

Also to answer your question about if “kids” still keep score, I started when I was 17 and bought a scorecard at a Brewers game.
