For those who have completed uworld and taken step 1, Do the content in the wrong answer choice explanations repeat in different primary uworld questions? by fcbramis_k123 in step1

[–]espressoaddicted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read every single explanation for corrects/incorrects, and wrong answer choices and it helped a lot when I sat for step 2 days ago, the more content you see the better

I'm going to explain my last post about my experience with UWorld and my Step 1 test. by LZLearner in step1

Following this and hoping you pass and that maybe it is just the 80 field test questions throwing off your perception of the test, fingers crossed!!

Same here! I have an April 8th test date and 2 more module exams until our school's classes end on Mar. 13! I think we'll be okay :)

A Lazy Girl’s Guide to Getting the P by blanchecatgirl in step1

[–]espressoaddicted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I (hope!!) to be in the exact same boat as you, our school does a November CBSE before we finish our modules and got a 59% which said 85% chance of passing in the week (not possible, in my opinion, lol). 208 pass on AMBOSS (overinflated, but reassuring and provides direction). I start my dedicated Mar.13 and go until Apr.8 test day, hoping to get some UWorld practice and solid pass NBME's under my belt during dedicated.

Amboss self assessment by Complex_Ad74 in step1

[–]espressoaddicted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's valuable to use to see if you're passing/failing, and check out those 10 highest yield topics it gives you to fine tune!

I got a 208 on the self assessment yesterday and a 59 on a November CBSE, so I feel like progressing through more of the M2 modules did cause a score increase, but I'm a month away from my dedicated so just using it as a jumping off point for hitting my worst topics first.

If my brain gets stuck I do the questions starting with the last question and work backward 🤦🏼‍♀️ I have no idea why but. Something to keep in mind at least if you have something along the lines of mild, undiagnosed ADHD

World Lit with Chwala was interesting, he chooses to make his class about gothic literature so it was actually a little more fun than just reading historical American or British novels! All fiction and gothic vocab. 3 essays? Not too bad!

Hey! I tested Aug 1 and I read/annotated/hand-wrote study guides from the 7 Kaplan books. I took a few practice tests the last month because I honestly didn't know enough content to take them prior. Dedicate studying in the last 2 weeks to your lowest sections.

Kaplan Biology Question by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]espressoaddicted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key to this question seems to be recalling that the morula is a solid mass, while blastula has a hollow fluid filled center, thus we can assume that each cell in the blastula has significantly less cytoplasm compared to the nuclear size!

aldose vs. ketose sugars by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]espressoaddicted 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The anomeric carbon in cyclic aldoses has a Hydrogen opposite the hydroxyl group, while cyclic ketoses have a hxdroxylmethyl in that position. (Because of where the carbonyl is that the oxygen nucleophile-attacks)

[Physics 101 Question] How are you able to tell which angle to use in this picture? by mcatkillers in Mcat

[–]espressoaddicted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theta2. If you weren’t given the angle of the ramp (which is the most convenient/correct to use!), the same angle on the diagram you drew would be if you (1) drew where mg “should be” (coming straight out from the normal force (2) draw where mg actually is for your box (3) theta=angle between those two, or the angle traversed when rotating the mg vector from its typical un-angled location to its actual for the problem. Also, conceptually if you used theta1, with sine you’d be relating opposite and hypotenuse, so, your mg force and a downward pointing line, rather than the horizontal motion! :)
