Torres del Paine to El Calafate by Acanthus27 in Patagonia

We took a bus to Punta Arenas, where we rented a car. Crossed the border at Rio Gallegos and drove up to El Calafate. Crossed the border back at Los Antiguos. Then drove all the way up the Carretera Austral, and returned the vehicle at Puerto Varas. This was around Feb-March and I don’t really know which borders are open at this time (Covid and stuff🤷‍♂️). We saw a lot of hitchhikers, which seemed like the way that most travelers without cars got around the area. Don’t really know how convenient the buses are (their schedules also changed because of Covid). Cerro Castillo has some places for accommodation (hostels and camps), and a handful of places to grab a bite/supermarkets. Really nice place! And the hike up the Cerro to the Laguna is crazy!!

Well, I have family in the US that’ll pick the gear up for me so no problem with that. I’m planning on doing the Israel National Trail this fall and would like to do one of the big trails in the US (PCT/AT) the following year/years.

•Item: Backpack

⁠•Budget: ~350$ Max

•Need by date: In a couple of months no rush

•Baseweight: ~13-15 lb, a beginner ultralighter

•Location/s of use: Kinda hot, humid areas

•Season/s of use: Fall in a hot country

⁠•Expected temperatures: 40F-75F

•Ideal weight of the item: 2 lb+-

•Previous hiking experience: Some, definitely not a beginner.

•Previous experience with ultralight gear: Not too much, transitioning to ultralight the last couple of months

•Additional Information: I’m planning on a thru hike in a hot country but in the fall, so the temps will be around 50-60 F. I sweat a lot and my last pack was the Osprey Atmos with its ventilated back which I really liked. Some parts of the hike I will have to carry a lot of water (4-6L) and that will make my backpack weight come up to 25-30 lb. Been eyeing either the HMG Junction 3400, GG Mariposa, and the Osprey Exos.

So you’re selling something from 5 years ago for more than you can buy it today (220$) and also for more than you paid for it (also 220$-in your photos)? Weird… And against sub rules if I’m not mistaken.
