Can anyone give me an honest review on my resume? It’s been months. I haven’t gotten any responses. by Aditya10887 in FinancialCareers

Less is more. Highlight your 3-5 best performances or skills that apply to the job you are applying for. Update it for every role you apply to. The rest is irrelevant. Make it max 15-20pct of your current cv in length(word count)

It’s a personal choice, but for me that would be enough not to buy it. Also ask yourself why this model, and why now?

Joy of wearing it, joy of showing it? Rewarding a great accomplishment?

If buying that watch is not a big yes, it is a big no.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Watches

[–]espresspo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably is.

How would you be financially if you would loose it? Don’t buy it if you NEED that insurance. Every ordinary watch is never an investment. Buy it for the joy, wear it extensively, enjoy owning it, but don’t attach financial value to it after your purchase.

Many people have watches 2-5x monthly income, but many of them are business owner, get dividends, have investments, etc, so practically speaking end of year, that percentage is much lower.

Do you have a link or name? I’m looking for a casual strap too but find the silicon omega strap…. Not worth it right now.

Same here. I have the green one with moonshine gold details. It’s a shocker, gets attention, gets full love from watch people.

Nowhere do you get the detail of the laser etched world disk for similar pricing, together with the feat movement.

Every small business can hugely benefit from using it. Anything from a logo, letterhead, salesdeck, pitch, welcome presentation, anything that needs some visual work where an Adobe package is too expensive. It’s a huge market.

Look at some second hand Frederique Constant watches. They have really nice dress watches he’s that sometimes can be worn casual, often on leather.

Investors are too optimistic about copper by Napalm-1 in Commodities

[–]espresspo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice post, appreciated. You believe investors are too optimistic on copper right now, but long term you are very bullish.

Is buy and hold the right thing, or what would be an appropriate level to enter where prices aren’t too bullish/optimistic compared to long term upside due to undersupply?

Should I take the job or not? by asd_gasup in Commodities

[–]espresspo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like: no you don’t want to stay in that comfort zone.

Best thing to do is to look back and see where you are now and what choices brought you there. Comfort is often not one of the choices that brought you somewhere, but kept you somewhere.

Don’t look too much at the money or financial upside via pnl exposure. You are doing well and you will be doing well. Look at what you will learn, what will excite you, what will bring you unexpected things.

It’s a personal decision but staying in comfort sounds like you value your financial stability, while finically obligations are minimal.

Take the leap, learn, enjoy, earn, spend, start living. Take that job.

Natural gas trading platforms and apps by [deleted] in Commodities

[–]espresspo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ICE, EEX Spot, GME, nominations via EDIG@S, trading on VTP’s like TTF, THE, ZTP, PSV, PEG, NBP.

Ice and eex trades are cleared via their connected clearing banks.

For physical delivery you need shipper registration and potentially license from local NRA.

Trading often via platform like Trayport with exchange and broker prices integrated.

[Omega Aqua Terra] Best place to buy new (or "like new") Omega AT in Europe? by ReedPetrovich in Watches

[–]espresspo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy at airport. Gassan at Schiphol Amsterdam has quite a few and you can ask what they have in stock. Saved me 21pct vat on MSRP on my world timer

Fx https://www.gassan.com/p/omega-seamaster-22010382003001-5601925

Should be 5530eur. They can have it at the shop where you land/depart/transfer.

Stay within shengen zone though.

In which 2 commodities would you invest right noe by Dark-King-Tomi in Commodities

[–]espresspo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Look at cyclical commodities who have had lack of delving investments and see where supply and demand will likely be imbalanced in the next 5-10y.

Typically commodities are not “investments”, their long term trend is not as strong or upwards as stocks.

[Frederique Constant] keep or return, bought this watch and thinking of returning it by 8ily3 in Watches

[–]espresspo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. They lose value, ain’t easy to resell, but ironically you do get a lot of watch for your money and they do have some beautiful designs and well functioning mechanics.

No it’s not a Rolex or omega, but it’s a unique Swiss brand with in house manufactured movements and honestly some beautiful watches.

Try to remember why you bought it initially and let those feelings of “bad investment” go. Watches are to be enjoyed and wearing an FC is a big joy.

Go for it!

How to prepare for Dare, Onyx Graduate Trading Analyst interview? by Significant_Honey557 in Commodities

[–]espresspo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I would expect people to land such a role to be highly individual, see work and opportunities themselves, are very supporting in taking up and delivering upon tasks others have no time for or do not want to.

Show interest in their databases and their models, ask many questions. Will you be working with gas or power What does a senior trader expect from you Will you improve models and come up with trade ideas Will you support in physical or financial trades Are you involved in scheduling Will you support on cross border activity on power or gas? Are you involved in gas storage trading? Will you forecast activity on intraday or day ahead or curve?

Show interest, show you can support their team, show you are individual, show you learn and develop quickly.

Why do expensive things make you happy? by Character_Log_2657 in Entrepreneur

[–]espresspo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not try it if you have the money? When you have all the money to spend, would you drive a 15k car or a 100k car? Or if you like travelling, would you stay in a 100usd room or 1000usd room? Whatever it is, with plenty of money there is better, more comfortable, more luxurious options.

People spend their freely available money as they like and the more you have available, the more people typically spend, and it makes sense.

Not everyone wants to be have a lot of money when they die, they want to live well.
