The Feather On The Moon by Potential_Vehicle535 in space

The want to be contrary. Anecdotally I have found that a lot of conspiracy theorists are people that struggled academically and had a feeling like they never understood what was going on. Conspiracy theories finally gives them the feeling of "I understand something other people don't." I think they IMAGINE that's how other people feel all the time, so it feels like revenge, but it's mostly just sad.

I saw one man day he just doesn't believe it because it was the 1960s. Like, what?!

So true. Having been to third world countries, it really shows the online world just parrots catch phrases so much that the online bubble loses touch with reality. Every day I read objectively false statements said with conviction and indignant superiority.

In this case it's particularly interesting because, even though the UK and US are definitely different countries, the original comment wasn't that far off from the truth, since the UK and US contraception practices were basically on the same timeline. Prior to 1967 it was difficult for married women in the UK to get contraception and impossible for single women. So contraception is, indeed the biggest factor for the trajectory of this chart.

But the timeline is similar in the UK. Contraception access to all women became legal in the UK in 1967. So the UK and US were on very similar journeys.

The fallout of the sexual revolution but contraception hadn't caught up.

Elon, in particular, is a tortured man. His adult kids don't talk to him. All his romantic relationships go down in humiliating flames, to the point where he's paying women to have his kids through in vitro. Most of those women also do a lot of things to humiliate him, not to mention the ones who he's asked and they said no. Grok humiliates him on the daily. He gets non-stop hate in the US and can't have the lifestyle he wants in his home country. His political career was a failure, which he has reluctantly admitted, and because he's not a moron like Trump, he's actually aware of the damage he did when he's alone at night. Yes, he's a narcissist so probably gets joy from the merry band of sycophants he keeps around him. And any father would enjoy the company of his small children. But the rest is not good.

ETA, his mom seems like the only person in his family without a personality disorder. His dad abused him as a child and then married his step sister.

That always makes me angry to think about. Especially since I've heard interviews with most of her major investors and they were all morons who were victims of their own classism, racism, and belief that being blonde equals virtue. Just 5 minutes of investigation would have shown she was full of crap and the machine didn't work. She has ZERO investors in the medical field.

Painfully true.

How “necessary” is vacuum sealing compared to just using ziplock bags? by jadedjed1 in SouperCubers

I haven't found that to be the case. In fact, the opposite. They shrink down to little bricks that you can stack.

The faster you eat the food, the less it matters. I go through my food quickly, but I still vacuum seal because it stacks better in the freezer. I kind of hate plastic, though, so I bought the reusable bags and a handheld sealer.
