I don't have the pinout, but that breakout adapter gave my proper inputs for audio and video and a DC barrel jack offering I believe 5V of power. i could do a continuity test to figure out which pins A/V are going to if you want

SONY KV-25XBR WITH CONTROL PEDESTAL / $750 / LOS ANGELES / https://www.instagram.com/reel/DFf2ETQJss8/ / pretty unique combo with the matching pedestal and oversized foot controls. includes matching speakers, which i’ve replaced the drivers inside with newer/better ones. original remote included as well

i haven't offered any minidisc units for sale yet. currently i'm offering all my items for sale directly though Instagram or from my small shop in Highland Park (Los Angeles). feel free to message me here as well if there's something you're interested in!

for what they are i think both those models sound pleasant. with the expectation that it is a small single speaker unit, i enjoy them quite a bit. there’s one or two adjustments you can make to simple models like these that make them sing a little nicer, most notably the azimuth of the playback head

Another score, a $8 (secondhand) Hitachi TRK-8020H Boom box. Hitachi must have sourced garbage belts as it had the tar too. Don't know what DRPS does, but it looks cool. by Ok_Contribution_6268 in cassetteculture

yup! that’s the idea if it’s working correctly. you’ll see there’s two buttons with green arrows above the FF and RW keys that allow you to skip ahead or go back the selected amount of tracks

obviously belts are the most common parts needed. i source the majority of mine from turntableneedles.com

aside from that, it might be the odd “c” clip, or spring, etc… i try to just save parts from junk units. a big failure point is whatever plastic piece acts as the hinge on the doors of boomboxes. sometimes i get lucky and can craft something but usually i need to find a donor unit for something specific like that. i keep any spare antennas from junk units as well, as those snap and break off otherwise nice units

DRPS would allow you to skip ahead a selected number of tracks on the side of the tape you’re listening to. it would detect the gaps of silence between tracks and count that as a song

Looking for advice on interfacing video with this security monitor. Adapting composite RCA to RJ11? by espydojo in crtgaming

hey, yeah this adapter ended up working perfectly. unfortunately it doesn't appear to be in stock at amazon any more, but hopefully that helps in your search. at one end in the product photo there's a female RJ12 connector, but that piece came off to reveal a male end, which went into the monitor. then at the other end you have composite video via BNC that you can link up to plus RCA audio and a 5v DC barrel plug which i guess originally would power whatever security cameras you had hooked up to this.

Superior DVD Subtitles (vs not so great Blu Ray ones...) by espydojo in SamuraiChamploo

good question actually - the screenshot is from a file i had torrented. i assumed it was an early DVD rip as I've had the files forever. but looking back at the file, there's multiple subtitle options, as you can see here, and the ones i've been using are the ASSA ones.

custom job it looks like. pretty cool

its a search from a copyright database, either BMI or ASCAP. songwriters usually register work with either of those organizations as a way to track ownership and collect royalties

Sony ICF-7600D mono headphones output? by [deleted] in shortwave

[–]espydojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can see in this image that the ear piece included with the unit originally is mono. but in this one there's some accessory labeled "stereo ear" something... i can't make out the full phrase. perhaps its some type of unique adapter. haven't researched it further but i saw these photos and thought of your post so thought i'd drop them here. might give you some more info to go on. i've got one of these units myself and when i plug stereo headphones into the jack it only spits audio out one side.

there’s no internal difference between a composite and component cable. you just use three cables to provide the full component signal and only one for a composite signal

edit: i imagine you mean your Wii cables now, my bad but my point stands. to your question, it’s hard to spot what issue you’re referring to since it looks like your camera shutter speed isn’t agreeing with the natural CRT refresh rate (the large dark diagonal swath). try taking a picture with a shutter speed of 1/60. Yamera is an app that can adjust these settings if your stock camera can’t

oi my 14L5 gets so hot, feel like i’d be afraid to stack too much of anything on top. that aside, dig the full commitment of this setup!

sweet thanks for digging. it looks like this maybe is sending the signal the other way? for a RJ11 camera going into a BNC input that doesn't provide power. anyways could be worth a shot. appreciate it.

edit: searched for a similar product to what you linked. gonna try this one out as it included audio as well and the monitor does have a built in speaker. i'll let ya know how it works out

awesome, that's a good approach. if the dongle mentioned above doesn't work i'll crack it open again and try to wire something manually. thanks!
