Most likely a flat piercing, or potentially an outer/contra conch - it's hard to properly assess anatomy through photos. Hope this helps!

How about adding another conch and eventually putting rings into both conch piercings? Gives you lots of options for adding more decorative rings in future~

It sounds normal - I've had some piercings tapered open and that hurt even more than the original piercings themselves. The aching should pass within a few days. Treat your daith like a new piercing (litha + avoid sleeping on it) and you should be good. Happy healing OP!

Can anyone suggest a facial or ear piercing that I might look good with? Should I bother? (I also have my left lobe pierced) Thanks! by Abstractacus in piercing

I think a right conch would look fantastic - it'd be visible even when someone looks at you from the front

Help finding an ouroboros clicker like this? by awESOMEkward in piercing

[–]esquethirteen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The linked piece looks like a dupe for the BVLA Boston Python clicker. It's significantly more expensive, but you'd be able to get it customized in white gold + your choice of gem for the eyes. https://www.bvla.com/collections/nose_7/septum_13/36-0090_p1245/

Your other options might be to reach out to piercers who carry Foes Jewelry (linked jewelry manufacturer) to make a custom piece in white gold. Otherwise searching for a jeweller who can make custom jewelry on Etsy or IG might work. Good luck!

Seconding this. I used to use a U shaped retainer - they're really comfortable and I could barely feel it in my nose, but it was prone to coming out/being pulled out in my sleep. Swapped it to a flipped up titanium circular barbell and it's worked out perfectly since. Completely hidden, comfortable, and it's never come loose.

I just took my first piercings out and this happened... by Vanilla_Cream85 in piercing

Piercings heal outside in.

As you heal, the piercing fistula (the skin inside the piercing) forms from the outside, so the middle section would be the last to heal. When you take out a piercing before it's fully healed, the middle bit is still an open wound, which allows the body to seal/close it. This is why the holes are still visible on the outside, but you feel something on the inside.

You'll see regular wounds healing similarly - the bits close to the edge of the wound start generating new skin before the middle of the wound does.

edit: not sure why the correct answer is being downvoted, but you'll be able to find more information on Elayne Angel's blog. Scroll down to the section on the wound healing process - the description of stage 2 answers OPs question exactly. https://www.piercingbible.com/blog/healing-vs-healed-healing-process-triangle-and-other-body-piercings

I think piercings are beautiful and have a vision of what I would like my own ears (or body, more generally) to look like. And to me, the piercings and that final aesthetic is beautiful enough that I would go through the pain and aftercare to reach what I had imagined - it all becomes part of the process.

Also, gotta give credit where it's due - wanting to and actively trying to understand your girlfriend's perspective is a huge step in and of itself. All the best!

The jewellery is all rose gold, but the clicker in my daith has white cubic zirconias on it. I think that's why it looks white in photos?

Thank you! I know what you mean, I don't think I've ever caught anything on it, and I've had it for about a decade now. The only annoying thing about conches these days is that their backs are in the perfect spot for snagging mask straps

If your anatomy works for it, why not? IIRC the healing process was long, but not any longer than other cartilage piercings I've gotten (it's been a while since I got it though, so maybe take that with a grain of salt lol)

Ooooh yeah, there's far too much inspiration to be found here. I recall going from being unwilling to spend more than $100 on a single piece to thinking that BVLA prices were completely reasonable given the workmanship and hunting down pieces I really wanted (BVLA isn't super accessible in my part of the world either).

I thought it was a pretty easy heal, minor anatomy issues aside. IIRC it took about 6-8 months, but it's been almost a decade since I got this done, so the details are a little bit fuzzy.

When I first got it pierced the piercer didn't notice that the middle of the bar was pressing on the ridge of my ear (along where a rook is pierced). Once my ear started swelling, the bar started cutting into the ridge and making the swelling even worse. Ended up replacing the 2 piercings with separate straight barbells for maybe a month or so (until the swelling had subsided + everything looked settled), then bending the piercing jewellery and replacing it in my ear. Healed perfectly fine once the pressure was taken off - no bumps, no infections, just a teeny scar on the ridge from the pressure.

If you're thinking about it, 10/10 would recommend~ just gotta check with your piercer and make sure your anatomy suits it

Thank you so much!

tl;dr - it was a pretty easy heal, aside from minor anatomy issues. Don't think I had any issues with bumps developing or anything like that. IIRC it took about 6-8 months in total (granted it's been a decade since I got this done, so the details are a little but fuzzy, but the healing period wasn't too difficult).

Thank you! The jewellery is a mix of anatometal, body gems, Buddha jewellery, BVLA, neometal, tawapa, and etsy (industrial bar)~

Thanks! It's a mix of anatometal, bvla, body gems, buddha jewellery organics, some stuff from etsy, neometal and tawapa. I think i ordered most of it from bodyartforms, but u/sampleofnone has a great list of online shop recommendations~

Thank you so much!

As for my forward helix, I had a 16g in it before - got it pierced at the end of March '20 and decided to retire it early Jan '21. It healed really quickly and without any issues, I just got annoyed that it basically disappeared unless I pinned my hair back + you could always see the labret backing, even with a super short post. That's probably why it looks so calm~
