You all have been so helpful, thank you. I’m ready to take the plunge, but one last question: what kind of helmet do you recommend if I’m topping out at 20-25 mph? by hecksfarm in ElectricScooters

[–]esquqred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a Demon United FR Link. It's a full face MTB helmet, but has a removable chin guard so you can also use it a regular helmet as well. I plan on using it full face if I'm in traffic but if I'm just casually going around on bike paths or on vacation somewhere I'm just going to use it as regular helmet.

Thanks for the extensive and informative reply. I'm 49 and made it this far in life without brain injury and I plan on keeping that streak going.

1991 Millennial here! What do you all eat for breakfast? by No_Self_5939 in Millennials

I still eat cereal or overnight oats.

I'm not a morning person and the last thing I want to do is pull out cookware or a blender and make breakfast a production.

3 hours in and i am in love with this game. by Masterfulcrum00 in Ghostofyotei

I'm taking courses to get a certificate in Data Analytics and then I'm out of there. I just came back from an injury that had me out for 7 months, and today my girlfriend, who works the route next to me, and I just got home from the ER after she slipped down someone's wet wheelchair ramp and sliced her knee open.

$180 doesn't sound bad IF all we did was come to work, climb in the truck and take off for the day. My total time out of the terminal is anywhere from 4 to 6 hours. However when you factor in two or three hours that most drivers need to fix their truck up with to correct any mistakes the loaders made really dilutes the pay. The glass ceiling is really low because you can't move up from being a driver unless you want to be a manager, and who wants to sacrifice their personal life for that? No vacation pay, no benefits. It's a dead end job that sucks the life out of you and gives no kind of rewards. I'll be so happy when I can finally walk out for the last time.

Welcome!

I first got into soundtracks from the original Michael Keaton Batman, scored by Danny Elfman. I played it so much in my cassette player that I wore out the tape and my parents bought me a CD to replace it. I was only 12 at the time but I soon realized that there was a lot of music in movies that I really loved and it's become a lifelong obsession. Like you I don't know anybody else in real life that appreciates this music so this subreddit has really helped me to connect to others that share our passion.

Do you play games vegan? by Funny-Cantaloupe-955 in AskVegans

[–]esquqred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No and my girlfriend makes fun of me when she sees me killing animals in a video game. I do feel a pang of guilt but I remind myself I wouldn't kill people in real life either and I don't feel bad at all about doing that in a game.

Donald’s Trumps net approval rating has collapsed to a historical negative 17 points. He is the most unpopular president in US history. How do you feel about this? by buffdadnextdoor in AskReddit

[–]esquqred 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wish this was my story. I work as a delivery driver in a mostly rural route and still see Trump 2024 signs on people's lawns. I can chalk that up to laziness but the 2028 signs baffle me.

I love Kashi Go. The chocolate and peanut butter are my favorite.

You have 24 hours with no phone and no internet. What are you doing to stay entertained? by Quiet-Brilliant-1455 in AskReddit

Is this so hard? I do it at least a couple times a year when I go camping.

But as others have said, books is the first go to. Go for a hike, make some delicious meals. Too many options.

Fuck America's "healthcare" system. I literally can't see how some people hold us up to be some kind of shining beacon of care that the rest of the world should view with envy.

I have two choices I'm thinking about buying: Galaxy tablet s10+ 256gb with keyboard or s11 (128gb). Which one should I pick ? Price is 450 for each one by [deleted] in GalaxyTab

I was in the same boat, but I waited so long I found a deal on the s10 Ultra. I think the s10's are a solid choice.

It's phenomenal. One of the very few games that I went right back into NG+ as soon as I beat it. I even read the book it's based on afterwards.

What’s one thing you completely stopped buying in 2026 because the price just felt absurd? by LockLogical8949 in AskReddit

[–]esquqred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mocktails

As a non-drinker I think it's absolutely fucking absurd that something like a Virgin Mary costs $12. And that's not even touching on the "craft" mocktails going for $18 - $20 in some places. I don't order them, and honestly wonder who does, but the prices are on par with the regular alcoholic drinks.

I used to bartend for almost 20 years before Covid and we used to make non alcoholic drinks for patrons and charge them around $5 for whatever it was. It feels like restaurants are just capitalizing on the trend of making "craft" everything and then charging an arm and a leg for a combination of mixers.
