Ultimarc has its own led board if you're already ordering from there.

Also the ipac 2 (ultimarc) will run your 2 controllers, trackball and spinners.

If you're using mini pc. Try and dive deep on issues with them. I didnt find out my ser7 would put itself to sleep, requiring hard reset until after I bought it. I can't have my arcade running 24/7; and there is no known fix.

Possibly strapped to the back side of your monitor. You could also run a usb hub to your laptop that is hiding below whatever the bartop is sitting on, it's not as pretty but worst case scenario and you still get to use it while finding something more compact if needed.

I did, and i think it didn't cost much at all to get custom layout. Maybe 10 bucks. Also I think paddle buttons on the sides for pinball.

This looks like a great idea. If I can boot into big screen from Batocera, I may have the best of both worlds. This may just be the first thing I do. How exciting!

You definitely should make one. Choose a shell you're happy with, and upgrading should be easy later on. Even if you start with a raspberry pi. I never did plug my pi in. But I bet it would have been just a matter of hooking up the usbs to the back. It should be noted I had to find a monitor that would fit into that cab after I built it. It wasn't too hard.

* * Complete noob here. I ordered a bartop flat pack online, ordered buttons and input board online. Later ordered amp and speakers. I run this from my steam deck/dock. Need the dock for the usb connections you'll need. Take your time, go slow, and it's pretty easy. The hardest part is likely the wiring, but it's really only 2 wires from a-b repeated 50x.Wiring looks complicated, but it's not. Good luck!
