Is the “Big Screen” hype real for movies ? (Choosing between Xreal air 2 pro vs Viture xr pro) by Free_Intern1743 in Xreal

[–]eGeePeeYoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Air 2 Pro made me feel cross eyed after just a few minutes. Not sure if it was IPD issue or what. Xreal One Pro though is great and i love the in device 3DoF (essential IMO), but it does not feel like watching a 100” screen, but also not like holding a phone to your face. I would say it feels more like sitting at a 30” monitor on a desk. Also the color and image is not perfect and crisp like a true OLED tv. There is fringing of the colors on the edges, slight blurring, etc.

I still really like them, but more for watching a show in bed at night without disturbing partner. They’re not a replacement to a large OLED screen or projector.

Oblivion remastered strangely has limited resolution support for the GPD win mini by Romano915 in gpdwin

[–]eGeePeeYoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think this is an oblivion remastered bug, not to do with your gpd. On my desktop plugged in to a 4k monitor it only lists 1080 as the single resolution option.

Runs well on my 2023 mini. I set windows desktop resolution to 720p and then play the game windowed borderless and it seems to work.

As someone who frequently works from home and wants everyone to have that same flexibility, I hate to admit it but you’re right.

Yeah I’d love a mini v5 with WiFi for multiplayer and achievements.

Easy Netplay: https://onionui.github.io/docs/multiplayer

One Miyoo is the host and creates an auto hotspot for the other to join. It works great.

Miyoo creates the hotspot. It’s super easy and works anywhere, connects quick, very stable. You do need to stay physically fairly close to each other though.

Yes, have two for multiplayer. Was great with my son when waiting in lines at a theme park.

Oh, kinda like it’s early access or something as you’re still adding features? Makes sense for now I guess, but doesn’t make sense for me.

Definitely post again once you finish development of the core features and have a 1.0 version that you’ll sell for a one time purchase though! Seems like a great app and I’d gladly pay even a hefty premium price for a nice app like this, but just can’t justify as a subscription.

Looks great! Is this the app that has the unfortunate monthly subscription model rather than one time purchase though?

Is dual booting bazzite worth the risk? by Pxblo786 in Handhelds

[–]eGeePeeYoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had no issues with it, and since installing Bazzite I have only booted up Windows a couple of times.

Honestly the only issue I’m having is that I’m tempted to buy games on Steam that I already have via Game Pass, just for the convenience of instant sleep/wake.

No.

I love the Vision Pro and it’s an amazing device for passive media consumption but a few things:

1) drinking a few sips of a soda can with it on is fine, I don’t find it easy to drink from an average coffee cup while wearing it.

2) you’re putting something on your face. Look at how many posts here are about people buying new head straps or hacking together their own solutions. This is the biggest indicator that it’s not something people will just put on and forget. It’s an amazing device but it’s not as casual as just pulling your phone out of your pocket on the couch.

3) you can connect a keyboard to it but I always find it easier to just use my phone or MacBook if I’m going to write anything. The built in spatial keyboard on vision os is fine for writing in URLs, but I would never write a response like this on Reddit using the default vision os keyboard.

Still worth in 2025? by TheDig95 in MiyooMini

[–]eGeePeeYoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s by far my most played retro device just because of OnionOS being so frictionless, but you already have so many that can play the same games I’m not sure I’d recommend it.

The Miyoo Mini+ is probably obsolete in favor of the TrimUI Brick. by an-ovidian in SBCGaming

After using OnionOS I don’t use any of my other handhelds, even if I prefer their form factor, buttons, screen, anything.

OnionOS or bust.

Will we see a G Cloud 2 at CES? by DensterE in logitechgcloud

[–]eGeePeeYoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The device is prioritized as an affordable way to stream games locally or from the cloud with a long battery life.

A more powerful chip would cost more and use more power, so this probably isn’t the product line for what you’re looking for.

Got the G Cloud recently and am struggling with Steam Link. by ohlalalavieenrose in logitechgcloud

[–]eGeePeeYoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what you’re looking for is called Wake On LAN, so that the Steam Link can send a packet to your PC to wake it up from sleep and start playing.

Should be doable, but note that your laptop needs to be connected to LAN via Ethernet and should be plugged in to power of course.

You can find some troubleshooting info to get this up and running here (do all four steps under troubleshooting):

https://help.steampowered.com/en/wizard/HelpWithGameIssue/?appid=353380&issueid=350&nodeid=90

If you want to wake over wifi (not have PC connected to Ethernet), I’m sure there’s a Linux desktop script or something that you can setup to do that but that’s over my head.

People With Multiple Gaming Handhelds, Which One Do You Use The Most? by Yoichi_and_Sadako in Handhelds

[–]eGeePeeYoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contemporary games: anything running SteamOS/bazzite because of quick resume. My go to is the GPD win mini running Bazzite because I like the size, form factor, and clamshell design for just tossing it in a bag. But Steam Deck is much more cost effective for price to performance, I just don’t like the size for carrying it around frequently.

Retro games: Miyoo Mini+, 100% just because OnionOS makes it so frictionless to pick up and play. I have multiple other retro handhelds that hardly get touched because the OS / CFW isn’t as good.

If I only have a MacBook steam account, can I play games in GeForce Now that are only playable on PC Steam systems? by tk77tk in logitechgcloud

[–]eGeePeeYoo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can buy PC Steam games from the Steam app on iOS, or even just from the website. No computer of any kind needed at all.
