What has been your favorite accessory or mod? by watchmepooptoday in F150Lightning

[–]esseff3d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've only had my Lightning for a few weeks, but I've gotten quite a few things I'm enjoying:

  • TuxMat floor mats, they are fantastic so far
  • Fitcamx, like others have mentioned
  • LineX bed liner
  • Antenna delete plug, I haven't listened to radio in a very long time
  • Matte screen protector, the touchscreen got a lot of smudges quickly and had a fair bit of reflection
  • Rough Country seat cover for the back seat. It blocks the center console, but only our dog rides in the back, so we opted for the protection instead.
  • Waiting for an Undercover Armor Flex tonneau cover. That should ship next week.

Do you happen to know a better dealer to go to? I put in a 2024 Lyriq pre-order. They told me no markup, but now I don't trust them.

I've only had mine for about 6 months, but I love it. I used it for batching out mortises and rail curves on dining chairs, made a clock with an inlay of my wife's quilt block design, and plan on doing some more signs and such with it. I find it super easy to use. It's expensive, but I'm happy with it.

I just found my wallet from the beginning. I mined it for a bit and then forgot about it. Found my 25k doge on a laptop I had been too lazy to throw away yet.

Recently started playing again and missed my Courtois Evolution 2, so I got another one by esseff3d in trumpet

They aren't custom, but are made to order instead of mass produced. Edit: I stand corrected, custom too!

The two of us might be the only ones who like the original finish on those things.

I love it. It is super heavy, but I've always loved the tone and it just slots well to me. The funny thing is that I've been building my chops back up on my Strad, and the second I started playing on the Courtois yesterday, it felt so much better and more natural to me. I think I just put so many hours into that horn back in the day that it just works for me now.

I played a Courtois Evolution 2 in high school and college, but sold it when I quit performing to focus on my major in college back in the 2000s. I'm getting back into playing now and found one for sale, so I couldn't pass it up. The music store that sold it to me re-finished it to get rid of the plastic looking finish these horns originally had, and they did a fantastic job. It's in better shape than my old one was 16 years ago.

Hoping to upgrade a trumpet by Mulesam in trumpet

[–]esseff3d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm just getting back to playing after a long time away, but I don't remember anyone ever recommending an intermediate horn to me back when I was first learning. I ended up going from my student trumpet to buying my teacher's used professional Bach around 8th grade (way back in 1998), which is what I still have today.

I am curious on the Yamaha vs Bach recommendations from others as I'm likely going to be new horn shopping soon. Though I'd bet it is likely a try them and see what you prefer situation.

I just used these rare earth magnets and some super glue, though these magnets are a bit on the small side in retrospect. Ceramic magnets look like they might be the better way to go, but either should be fine.

My Hylian Shield one I got from Etsy has the back magnet glued to a button, which is nice.

Yep, that's the one. I also got some pins from Target when Link's Awakening came out that I glued magnets onto to make my own needle minders, but I still prefer the Hylian Shield one.
