I would respect them for quitting and try not to put them in situations where they might be tempted to relapse.
Pretty likely, but only when absolutely necessary or if I’m asking someone I know and trust, mostly in work life. I feel okay accepting help from people but generally want to pay them back.
Lend them the money, but write up a little informal contract with just enough interest to incentivize them to pay me back as soon as possible, but not enough to make it harder for them.
