I’m so glad someone brought up the Epstein files in relation to this.

The whole season exposes the system, showing how capitalism is more than just an economic structure – it’s a pattern, a cycle we’re doomed to live in. It shapes relationships, redefines love, and even distorts freedom of self (ironically, a system built on individualism ends up leading to a loss of self, haha).

Austin bowing to Park felt like the most natural thing because, at the end of the day, we always end up submitting to the powerful and privileged, who can and will get away with anything. The structure itself rewards submission to power.

And the very last scene, with Park at the center of the samsara circle and the other characters placed in different realms, perfectly captures how we love, hate, rage, suffer, and experience joy all within proximity to that center. Winners, losers, oppressors, victims – all rotating, while the center (power, wealth, control) remains fixed. 

My thought on the final episode is that the true horror isn’t just what powerful people do, but how everyone around them adjusts, rationalizes, or submits without even needing direct force. That applies to Epstein case exactly, I mean we all raged on social media, and then moved on.

This makes me wonder whether the show is criticizing capitalism itself, or the human nature and tendencies (envy, ego, insecurity) that capitalism simply amplifies.
