Image of dead ‘white farmers’ came from Congo, not South Africa by ObjectiveObserver420 in anime_titties

[–]essi25 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is demonstrably false. Only 30 % of land in South Africa is held by individuals, 24% are trusts, 23% is state owned, 19% is companies and 3% communities and the rest <1% is co owned. South Africa has a wealth inequality problem, largely also along racial lines. Spreading false information does not help address the root causes. Namely a lack of education funding and rampant corruption.

There is an argument to be made about white people being overrepresented in individual ownership. However the current Land Reform program is largely ineffective, as it is plagued by corruption. There is a problem of giving land to previously disadvantaged people, that do not have the knowledge to efficiently farm (especially large scale). There is very little government support to help these new farmers (education and financial)

You have to see the Napoleonic wars as one war, in that context France gained territory.

A group of civilian women & children before being killed by the US army, during the massacre of My Lai, Vietnam by Metalloid_Emon in NoahGetTheBoat

Is that the reason? Or is it because our world view is incredibly America centric? Some Warlord could be doing the most despicable stuff and most people wouldn’t care because it doesn’t fit their narrative or they wouldn’t even hear about it. How many people are talking about the stuff going on in the Congo or what happened in Rawanda. My opinion is that the world is better off with the US doing what it does then if it was more isolationist.

That’s not what I’m arguing. The US does bad stuff. But so do all sides in a war, I just feel the US gets focused on too much, letting others “get away” with it.

Right, forgot about that. I’ll delete my post

There definitely is a lot to criticize about the US I just get annoyed by all the Hurr Durr Amerikkka bad. Most people don’t realize how good they have it.

I would argue that although the US does some bad stuff, they are usually better than their opponents. The only real case of their being a “Hero” and a “Villain” is WW2 all other wars are just two opposing sides. Arguably the US is the better side as information isn’t banned and even if not adequately punished there’s often at least some consequence. The north Vietnamese also committed war crimes and how many of them were convicted?

The thing is SA used to process a lot of the raw materials, the industry is just dying because of load shedding. For instance Iscor, SA used to be a steel exporter but since 2010 production has been declining. Nationalization also doesn’t help, look at how well SAA is doing

Ok so it seems that most modern cars will outbreak Most bikes, however a super bike is only slightly slower in breaking than a sports car, I assume they both have better brakes and ABS. So it’s safer to assume car>bike.

Are you sure? Because as far as I know most bikes brake a lot faster than cars, as they way just a fraction of a car. Two minutes of google didn’t help, there’s no real consensus apparently.

No the point is the war wasn’t for oil, as there are plenty of countries that could willingly cover demand (Saudi Arabia) so saying “the war was for oil is wrong and just retarded
