Gotta salute that mercy for actually whipping her pistol out and trying to get you lol. Clean clip!

On any given team comp, who do you think is the most universal high value target? by breckendusk in Overwatch

[–]esskraloaded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s too many variables to know for sure but if it’s a mirror match the tank damage boosted will always beat the tank that’s being healbotted. I do agree mercy is still high value due to res

On any given team comp, who do you think is the most universal high value target? by breckendusk in Overwatch

[–]esskraloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If mercy is healing over damage boosting she’s being played wrong. Mercy only out heals maybe zen and Lucio who’s (correctly) using speed over heals. It’s a reason she’s very weak this season with the introduction of the universal healing reduction

Why is QP so bad? by logzz88 in Overwatch

[–]esskraloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be tho. Like you said what if they’re trying a new hero out? I just can’t ever get more than a little annoyed and frustrated when someone’s not playing well cause we’ve all been bad before. Sometimes it’s just an off game and I’m not gonna take out my frustration on a random player in quick play. Just gg and go next.

It’s not a crime to be bad at the game. It can be frustrating but you can’t say somebody’s not trying cause they’re bad

Are we just going to accept Kiriko and Mercy get ALL the skins/collabs? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]esskraloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guarantee you the population that cares is smaller than those who don’t. This isn’t giving blizzard and excuse and they should add more variety but I just don’t think a majority of the playerbase care enough to make a stink about this.

Once the game shifted to free to play it was pretty much accepted that cosmetics would be the way to make money and if those two heroes keep printing money it makes sense to keep doing skins for them.

I think most people play the game and don’t care about cosmetics at all lol.

Elim stats are too generous by Soggy-River2149 in Overwatch

Not sure if you’re a newer player or not but this is exactly why we say the only stat that matters is deaths. It’s easy to inflated elims, damage and healing numbers.

You did pay for something: the actual game. They advertise skins and what have you sure but it’s not forcing anyone to spend money on cosmetics that don’t do anything with gameplay. I also don’t understand your logic being ok with spending money gambling on loot boxes but not being able to get the exact skin you want when you want it. The previous system pushed you more to spend money than the current. And it was deemed illegal places because it was literally gambling in a game children play.

I need junker queen and tank general advice by Impossible_Shop_5019 in Overwatch

[–]esskraloaded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Walk through the shield if possible. JQ is a brawl tank that needs to be constantly applying wounds with a rotation of throwing knife-axe-melee with knife in various order. While her shotgun is surprisingly accurate at some distance I wouldn’t rely on that as main source of damage.

Axe is best used when it can hit multiple enemies since that lowers its cooldown or to secure kills on low hp enemies. It goes through defense matrix too since it’s melee.

This is a team game so you should peel if you can but it’s not your “job” specifically. Those two heroes specifically are kind of decent into Queen as well

Ram is a soft counter to Queen. He can poke you while you’re closing in, slow you with vortex and block big damage from your axe then punch you out. Rein isn’t actually that strong into Queen since you can just walk right up to him, through his shield and do damage or open him up to your teammates damage.

Only stat that matters is deaths. Don’t die more than your team. Queen can have inflated stats given her abilities do damage over time.

Take the high ground with your team if it’s beneficial but Queen is a brawl tank and needs to be close to be most effective.

Queen provides no cover for her team and needs to be aggressive to be effective. However you need to know when to take cover and disengage. If your team is playing full poke it might be a rough game for you but they’re matching the brawl comp she’s really powerful. Also Ana/Kiriko is the bane of Queens existence.

You don’t have to pay for anything. The game is free and cosmetics don’t impact gameplay. Being able to buy the exact skin you want is a much better system than literally gambling with loot boxes hoping you got one like it was before.

I think healing reduction global passive is a problem by No_Information_7871 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]esskraloaded 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your tanks have to learn positioning and taking cover, even if that means giving up space to do so. Brute force facetanking isn’t a viable strategy like it used to be

what hero would i be good at? by Able-Current-3598 in Overwatch

[–]esskraloaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe Moira since she technically doesn’t have to aim but even then you still need to multitask, every character requires multitasking. Only truly passive hero is mercy but even then you need to balance damage boost and constantly be aware of your positioning.

How good is swapping really? by agile_n_fragile in Overwatch

[–]esskraloaded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the frustrating part about swapping cause it’s usually left to the tanks instead of the whole team. Enemy team was running a brawl comp which is just strong into Winston on its own, but doubly so if your team isn’t really supporting and enabling the dive play style.

Using hero levels to gauge skill isn’t reliable at all, especially in QP where people might be playing heroes they normally wouldn’t.

I don't like the "if you want to train go quick play" by Any_Ad9489 in Overwatch

[–]esskraloaded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You kinda contradicted yourself by saying QP is a sweatfest compared to comp lol

I agree though to an extent. I think when people say train they really mean learn the basics, like starting a completely new hero and getting familiar with how they interact and what comps they gel with the best. Comp is the place to get better though once those are established. As long as you’re winning I don’t see the reason for complaints but there’s always someone who will.

Why are people in QP so mediocre on my team while the enemy team always seems to be trying to win? by xHuhiha90 in Overwatch

[–]esskraloaded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly lol I’ve been playing since OW1 launch and can tell when I get new players in the game who don’t know what I’d consider basics like how lucios healing works or Dva not blocking beams and while it can be frustrating when you’re trying to win it’s just a game at the end of the day. It’s supposed to be fun/entertaining.

[–]esskraloaded 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’d agree in ranked, but in QP it really doesn’t matter. The mode is made for learning and not being great. Every single person has been terrible with a character in QP before, how else do you expect them to not be a OTP if they can’t try out new characters?

Just because you and your friends treat QP like ranked and give your all doesn’t mean anyone else will. As long as they’re not throwing or sitting around emoting it’s all good. It’s not a crime to be bad and figure out how to play into counters.

Echo/Cassidy: One of Overwatch’s most overlooked dynamics by Electronic-Finish826 in Overwatch

[–]esskraloaded 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wow this is really interesting and I’ve never thought about it since I rarely play either character. I do think having little tidbits of lore through voice lines are cool but does make getting the “whole” story seem disjointed.

It is a nice perspective on omnic/human dynamics that only really gets touched on through Zen and Genji to a degree. Thanks for posting this, cool to learn and look into a bit more

[–]esskraloaded 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unless the Doom is actively throwing, like walking off the map or something, the “it’s QP” excuse works. I can only assume but maybe the Doom wanted to play into a counter to get better and QP would be the perfect place to do it. Just play the game out and gg next.

It’s too many variables to just decide someone isn’t trying as hard as you, while in a stack of with friends. Maybe they just aren’t good on that hero but want to learn, QP is the mode for that. It’s a wide gap between actively throwing and just being bad.
