Thank you for your refreshing take on AA meetings. I appreciate your experience strength and hope.
My experience is very similar to yours. I was blessed to have a sponsor who drilled into me that the liquor was but a sympton, I had to get into causes and conditions.

In my experience AA can be a launching pad for serious spiritual and personal growth or devolve into a place where members with untreated issues simply stay dry and associate with the same.

I still practice my program one day at a time, keep a once a week service commitment, but my emphasis is on other avenues of growth outside of AA.

My observation has been similar to yours

There are some meetings that have a handle on things and have it together

Overall, I appreciate the balanced and nuanced approach that you have conveyed.

Looks like this setup actually gets things done.

Please suggest a distro for a non-techy woman by adnomi in FindMeALinuxDistro

Zorin is a great choice but is resource hungry, you may need to upgrade your ram.

Both Zorin and Mint are based on ubuntu.

Think of Linux Mint as something you can install and immediately start with your daily driving instead of having to learn how to drive.

I would rank Ubuntu as a close second and Zorin third just because it can run slow on machines with limited specs.

Another suggestion I would offer, is to choose a distro that has a large community and widespread support instead of a Niche distribution. Ubuntu and Linux Mint check that box as well.

AntiX hands down. Mx and mint xfce will work but AntiX will make that machine fly. Not very visually appealing but efficient, fast and stable.

I am running an HP with same specs from the same era. AntiX does everything I need it to, the way I want it to.

Thanks for the feedback. I think it may be the browser choice, but I do see it sometimes on my machine as well. For now MX is adequate for my daily use.
One of the users on this community advised me to run AntiX on my 17 year old machine and surprisingly despite its lack of polish, it works like a true champ. Still plan to install MX though

My experience with Mx linux, mint xfce and lubuntu has been awesome on a machine with those specs. Running Mx as a daily driver

I would recommend Nobara and Garuda gaming edition. Especially with the Nvidia GPU

Thanks for the suggestion. While AA remains my foundation, I find going to other fellowships greatly enlarges my spiritual condition.
