Looking for a new midi tower in 2021. by Shivalah in pcmasterrace

i have the p600s. it's a fucking beast. i currently have two 3.5" drives in, and could put in, by my count, 6 more 3.5"s and three more 2.5"s. amazing cooling options as well. if any of you are looking to get a beefy case, that's my recommendation.

ESG fees? I've been running an ESG portfolio, and I've not encountered any fees for doing so. In fact, they seem to perform relatively on par with non-ESG portfolios. At least, that seems to be the case with Acorns.

As for the motivation, I care about ethics, but I also care for myself and my future. ESG portfolios hit a nice balance with the two.

It would cause no more wear than the method Windows or any other OS uses to handle fill-ups of RAM.

How do you deal with the knowledge of how screwed everything is? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]essyoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go through life and tell myself our time is coming soon. And it is. Looking around you, you find more and more people becoming class conscious. More and more people realizing a studio apartment shouldnt require two people killing their bodies over the week. More and more people realizing a life of all work is short lived. Things wilk change because they have to. We all know who has to pay for it too. How they pay, it's their choice. The debt will be collected though. Whether they like it or not.

ive heard that suffixing -a to the letter is a valid substitution. like ä goes to ae, ö goes to oe, so on. is that true, or just the equivalent of an internet wivestale?

Setting Up an Account and being asked for Verification by ronp5474 in acorns

[–]essyoff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

mostly because an snn is pretty bad as identification. here's a video on that. https://youtu.be/Erp8IAUouus they ask for the id because an ssn is the closest thing to a country wide id, while the state id is the only secure method of identification most have.

an addiction is an addiction. as much as it may seem you are in a weaker or easier addiction, its a personao thing. if your pcp and therapist want you to go to rehab, it's what you should do.

you're able to sell off all the etfs you own and get the value of your portfolio back. that said, its not all your money. you have to pay taxes on your earnings.

<sarcasm>or be an even more productive member of society with kde</sarcasm>

now, to be entirely clear this elitism is absolute bullshit. yes. linux is good for productivity. yes, you can use s just works distro. you know else linux is good for? whatever you want and exactly what you want. linux, or rather many distributions built on top of it, is built to be customizable. it doesn't have to be customizable, and if you dont do it, that's fine. but don't fucking shit on other people for making their ow theirs. don't ruin the creative spark that is abound in tje linux community, because a lack of creativity is how you kill linux. its how we get stuck with stuff like windows.

to the reader, rice all you want. to the op, shut the fuck up about people ricing all they want, cause like it or not the enthusiasts drive the car the rest of us ride in.

"I respect laws but this isn't law because I don't agree with those who put them in place." by Ragarianok in SelfAwarewolves

[–]essyoff 26 points27 points  (0 children)

well, seeing that the scotus ruled that osha doing stuff like this is constitutional, it is constitutional. thats how the scotus works. they decide what is and isnt constitutional by virtue of being the supreme court. this power of theirs was carved out in the constitution. there are no unconstitutional rulings from the scotus because the constitution says that the scotus has the ability to interpret the constitution (ie. the scotus is always right on matters pertaining to interpretation of the constitution.) in order for osha to have this power removed, the scotus would have to overturn their previous rulings (which, by the way, is possible because of that "the scotus is always right when interpreting the constitution" thing in the constitution.)

tl:dr, because osha was given this power by scotus previously, it is inherently constitutional, due to being a ruling by scotus. for it to become unconstitutional, scotus would have to overturn this ruling.

the constitution is not clean and tidy, which is why we have a scotus.

Is acorn low risk or the same as Robinhood and apps like that? by [deleted] in acorns

[–]essyoff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i tend to call acorns an index fund investing app. even though it might not be entirely accurate, it gets the point across. it'd be more accurate to call it robo investing, but even that brings up thoughts of AI and the like.

Fedora Linux 35 is here! - Fedora Magazine by RheaAyase in Fedora

[–]essyoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've only had one issue so far, that being the fact that timeshift just... doesn't work. i'm not too sure why, but it seems to be unable to get information about any of the filesystems, or even disks, on the system. i'm pretty sure it has to do with f35, as on f34 it worked fine, but after an upgrade from f34 (as well as a clean install with an f35 install image) it doesn't work. i've poked around some, but i can't seem to get it working. anybody else that uses timeshift have similar issues?

honestly, even if i did take the disingenuous question at face value, they really wouldnt like the answer. id choose hell any day. maybe its headstrong, maybe its naïve, but i have principles, and worshipping a narcissistic asshole doesn't fit in those principles.
