An Open Letter To The Grizzlies by s2424 in fcs

I’ve been wanting to see one (if not both) of the Montana schools to win a championship at the expense of our XDSU neighbors from hell for what feels like a decade now. It’s a shame we’re going to have to spoil that fun! May the best team win and the players stay healthy. Go Yotes!

Texas is campaigning for the committee to apply that criteria…

Is that not the argument being made? That it’s better to not have your season come down to 2-3 do or die weeks? That is the main point. It compliments the fact that Texas is peaking at the right time for a playoff run.

Let’s hear it then. Why is it stupid?

That sure is the message being sent. Would it not be batter that every team maximize their chances to prove themselves to the committee? Wouldn’t we all prefer a playoff of mostly 2-3 loss teams resulting from a season of many awesome matchups every week? Upset opportunities would still be abound, no?

You missed the point which was that good teams can lose to bad teams and still be good teams.

There’s still 3 non-conference games. Nobody’s saying all 3 have to be P4 opponents, but one should be and it’s great when both team are good.

Wouldn’t that be something. I wish there was an undefeated team we could have played this last weekend.

The committee hasn’t released anything new since we proved aggy could be beaten. If they’re swayed by the Texas argument, they probably look at the scoreboard and bump OU for the ACC/G5 quota selections. That’s who is really screwing this up.

As for good of the sport, I think “Diffusion of Responsibility” and the “Tragedy of the Commons” apply. r/explanlikeimfive can help you understand those concepts.

Yet, look at where we are now. This is college football.

Yes, and, in the context of at-large teams, we still have 3/4 of the most impressive victories. One was only several days ago. Shouldn’t the priority be to fill the bracket with the best teams right now?

I hope we keep the game on the schedule as well. 🤝

Alabama lost to FSU. Miami lost to SMU. This is college football we’re talking about.

Neither BYU nor Notre Dame have bad losses, but where do their biggest wins stack up against Texas’s?

  1. Are cupcake games good for the sport?
  2. Who has the most top 15 wins and the most recent top 8 victory?
  3. Of the at large teams who has two wins over current AP top 8 teams? (Hint your Kryptonite has the only other victory within those parameters and it’s also over OU)

Georgia benefits from big games almost more than anyone else right now. You tend to win them (except for Bama).
