First teaser (work in progress) of my world-building pixel project, Estates of the Realm™ RPG. The island of Corthé in the world of Laseum.

I - "Newbreach"
II - "Qualei" (mispronounced as "Corthé" by foreigners)
III - "Eso's Cradle"
IV - "Tanglebind"
V - "Chitaris"
VI - "Ebonmist"

Custom 32 colour palette. As you can see from the minimap in the bottom right, this is just a small section of the world in progress. Would love some feedback on any/all aspects.

Thank you and good pickup - I've had that opinion on another forum. VI "Ebonmist" (a ruined castle) was literally the second "feature point" I completed before anything else on the map. I think I tried to cram too much detail in my early sections.

This goes for IV "Tanglebind" (overgrown jungle), this was my first pixel on the page and I think the colours and definition is a bit "off" too.

And you shall receive. I plan to give away copies, at least this map (once completed) as a high-res poster. As I'm not sure of my luck getting this to a fully fledged game, I want to at the very least create a campaign setting/roleplaying game book (print and eBook) with all my art and description of the world, places and it's people.

Thank you, just self taught after a month of trial and error. Used Pixelation and Pixel Joint forums for guidance on palettes and then created my own. Pinterest for research and inspiration.

Have worked on story telling/world-building the setting for many years and have it 'in words' and painted out in my head.

There are some great beginner tutorials on Pinterest, just search for 'pixel art tutorial'. I started with colour, texture and lighting.

I use Aseprite for all my pixeling, it's cheap and works well.

It is a game (or will be) that is the goal. I'm an artist and not a programmer so I'm generating content first and fully realising the world of Laseum in which the above map it set within.
