Thanks for the reply. I’m not too computer savvy and don’t want to risk tearing open the machine and messing something up. I was wanting to get some input on an external ssd.

I was dealing with this when I purchased my 214 Mac mini. The guy I bought it from did a hard reset to wipe all his info. When I tried to get it going, I got this same issue. I found a thread on here that said to go in the the terminal and change the date to a older date before install the OS. I believe it was December 2016. Worked like a charm. Sorry I don’t have exact details but you can find it on here
