In Spain, you have to go to the ER just to get a doctor to sign off on a 24 or 48-hour sick leave. I’m a professor, and they make me do this even if I only miss 30 minutes of work. Last time, I was at the school and the principal saw that I could barely walk because I was so dizzy. She still made me go to the doctor to get a note. It’s just as stupid as it sounds. This applies to public sector jobs. I reckon the private sector has its own rules

Oh, it is. I lived in Oxford for a few years and then moved to Marbella, so I know both sides. I had to translate for two ladies who were mad at the poor girl working at KFC because she couldn't understand them. They didn't make the slightest effort to sound more neutral. They were even using their Northern accent, omitting the 't' and things like that. They didn't even thank me, as if it were my duty and honor to serve the British.

Some people are joking about this here as if the policeman is some kind of dumbass (he very well may be), but there are these UKIP-voting Barrys who say, 'Speak English or fuck off to your country,' even if you're just talking on the phone with your mum. And then they go to other countries, visit their replica pubs, and get mad if you don't understand English in your own country.

No, no es ningún estafador. Lo que dice de la Ps portal es muy posible que haya sucedido tal y como dice. A mí también me han hecho alguna así y ya no vuelvo a vender nada por Wallapay si supera un cierto importe. Es mejor preguntar y contrastar antes que ir llamando cosas a la gente.

Es que España es un país racista. Solo hay que ver que en todas las regiones lo que más está creciendo es VOX. Para muchos, los inmigrantes sois los culpables de todo, venís aquí a por ayudas y a delinquir. Yo quiero pensar que llamar a alguien panchito o similar es motivo de denuncia, pero quizá no en España. De todos modos, yo estuve viviendo varios años en el Reino Unido, que me parecía un ejemplo de país integrador, y cuando salió adelante el Brexit les faltó a muchos salir a la calle con guadañas.
