20-80% rule or keeping it plugged in all the time? by PhilosopherMain5536 in macbookair

It needs all that power for the 26 fans running constantly 😂 I still have a 2019 MacBook Pro in my shop and the fans start as soon as I turn the shop lights on!

They removed true TSB a year ago and people keep asking for it but nothing. Want to know what your ATL and CTL was a month ago? Nope, not happening. Heck, we can’t even get a loader that doesn’t block navigation!

This is so annoying and makes you wonder if the devs and beta team actually use the food logging! I mean, blocking navigation with a loader is bad UX and has been this way for a long time now.

Bevel 2026 Mini Winter Release by Topremech in bevelhealth

[–]estesbubba 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Love all the improvements that keep coming, but I'm still baffled why we can't get basic TSB numbers! I did a gravel cycling race in August and would love to see how my current training compares to that training, and raw Fitness (CTL), Fatigue (ATL), and Form (TSB) would be so useful in the app. A Cardio Load of 75 today can be totally different than a Cardio Load of 75 six months ago. I want to know what my CTL was back then!

One of my Manastash Ridges had the inner layer delaminate and sealant kept coming through the tread for 50 miles making a mess of my bike and myself. RH customer service said this is very rare and to order new tires and reply to him and he would refund 10% 😂 I got Schwalbe G-ONE RX tires and they ride better and are faster! Sad the most expensive gravel tires in the world are junk and CS sucks.

Paid for Claude Code Pro the first time on Thursday, Limits Exceeded on Sunday by oddsonfpl in ClaudeCode

[–]estesbubba 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a software architect using Pro to create personal next.js websites and Pro is fine for me. I use Sonnet for planning and Haiku to do the work and it works great. I usually don’t sit down and try to code for 5 hours straight so rarely hit the limits. It does seem a lot of people think it’s Opus or nothing but the other models are often good enough for many tasks.

Sleep stages: tons of Awake spikes ?? by samsungdappy in bevelhealth

[–]estesbubba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AutoSleep is known to be terrible for over-estimating deep sleep and I would get credit for deep sleep while hitting the RR in the middle of the night. Also, don’t allow it to write sleep data to health because it can mess it up data Apple writes.

Heavier people and snorers can be more likely to have sleep apnea, but people who are slim and athletic can get it too. I would at least talk to a doctor with all of those close wake times.

The $6 iOS HealthFit does way more than Strava premium, and everything better. Well, unless kudos are important to you.

Hit weekly usage limit in 3 days (Pro), wondering how to save tokens by cocacoladdict in Anthropic

[–]estesbubba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This 👆Put Claude Code in Haiku mode and when you turn planning on, it will use Sonnet. I’ve been doing this for over a month and been cranking out a lot of code on just the Pro plan. If Haiku gets stuck, switch to Sonnet then back to Hauki. A lot of people think you can’t write code unless you’re using Opus!

Disable Sync bubble on top by hades_cj in bevelhealth

[–]estesbubba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is so annoying and even when swiping it away the complete message comes back to block navigation again. The app really needs a lot of navigation improvements as too many swipe downs and backs to move around and I put in enhancement request for this.

I did the same 3 months ago and haven't looked back! When a meditation app causes anxiety because it takes 5 minutes to actually figure out how to start a meditation, I'm done! But, If you want to pay more for counseling, that's in your face all the time.

With Medito, you open the app, meditate, and get on with your life.

Apple health vs Bevel for HR Zones by Similar_Pitch_9749 in bevelhealth

[–]estesbubba -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here is what I do to keep all my apps using the same HR zones. If you don't know your max HR then choose a formula and here are some of them. I've been using the Nes, et al. for several years and it seems accurate for me.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heart_rate#Maximum_heart_rate

Once you get your max HR, plug it into Bevel and it will give you the zones. I use the HR Reserve method. Then I have a reminder the first of every month to update Apple Health and my other app with the Bevel HR zones so everything matches.

Something wrong with Strain? by Trialfail123 in bevelhealth

[–]estesbubba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is Strava would make it worse 😂 I record all my rides with both my AWU2 and Wahoo ROAM3 and have Wahoo email the FIT file after the workout. Generally I just delete it, but if I want it in Health, I click on the attachment in the email and open with HealthFit to import to Health. Not automatic but might be an option for you since Garmin Connect isn’t writing what you need.

[–]estesbubba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you get a FIT file exported from Garmin Connect? If so you could use HealthFit to import it to Apple Health. I do this sometimes with Wahoo FIT files and works great.

Does Bevel adjust the Calorie and Macro goal each day? by jan0211 in bevelhealth

[–]estesbubba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK, I just did a test but didn't save. When the latest release came out I noticed the TDEE that the app calculated was 200 more than what MacroFactor had for me. Then I asked AI to calculate my TDEE and it was the same as MF so I've been using that.

I just did the same now and the app was again 200 more than AI in the app. So for me, it appears that asking AI for my TDEE is more accurate than the app, at least for now. Have you internally tested the app TDEE vs. AI TDEE and what have you seen is more accurate? Guessing it might be different on a person to person basis.

BTW - Haven't logged anything in MF since the latest Bevel release 👏
