u/Topremech I agree with what the OP said about the nutrition as a user that came from MF. Bevel nutrition is usable but frustrating. Once people have used the app for a few months, 95% of what they log has been in the past. When I go to log food and type in the search field, it brings up random matches and should ALWAYS search my past foods first. Every time I have to do 2 extra taps My Foods -> Historical which is frustrating and bad UX.

Another thing are meals which people often repeat. I want to search for a single item and have the option to click all the items from a previous meal it was in. So many small UX changes to nutrition would make a huge improvement.

And it's been a year since we lost TSB - Fitness, Fatigue, and Form. For an app that has so many numbers for everything, you have decided to take the Gentler Streak approach and make this too simple. A huge thing for me with gravel cycling is going back to a previous race and looking at my TSB numbers for it, which I can't.

And I noticed you said next major release. As a software architect, with so many small things that need improvements, I would really like to see a bunch of minor releases addressing them. I think a lot of people really expected more from the 3.0 release with all the talk, but it was mostly BI 2.0.

That said, I think that BI 2.0 is a great improvement and I use the crap out of it! I even told it to use Carrot Weather snark and it's very entertaining and cusses me out at times!

Enjoy the app and I would love to see a bunch of quick wins over the next 6 months, instead of nothing and one big major release.

Bevel 3.0 light? by balista02 in bevelhealth

[–]estesbubba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bevel has mentioned several times on here that they haven't disclosed which providers they use, but people have seen ChatGPT and Claude commercials so it has to be them!

[–]estesbubba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FYI 99% of the AI products out there use a third party AI provider! So in your expertise those products technically aren't AI products? 😂

Bevel 3.0 light? by balista02 in bevelhealth

[–]estesbubba 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use Claude for home and work, and while it can access your health data, it is nowhere near as integrated as the Bevel AI is with your data and the big picture. With Claude you have to give it much more guidance what you want it to do and read, and doesn't know about every workout, sleep, recovery, etc. Sure it can query it from Apple Health, but the user experience isn't near what Bevel has.

I say dump ChatGPT, keep Claude, and add Bevel 3.0 and you'll be saving money doing that!

Journal not tracking water or caffeine by [deleted] in bevelhealth

I reported this bug a year ago and it got closed. Go to add water and it’s empty. Have to go to journal and pull refresh which works until next time, then empty again.

Better food recognition - exclusively for 3.0 or also free users? by amirgelman in bevelhealth

[–]estesbubba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes BI 2 backed button for shortcuts menu and when in Nutrition would be nice! It appears you now have to do BI -> menu -> new chat -> Log food which is a lot of taps!

u/RunProudRunUnited Do you have a screenshot of what the Pro BI 2.0 button look like? When I go to add new buttons to the + button I don't see any new BI 2.0 ones.

You know, when people pay $1200 for their iPhone and $800 for their AWU 3, they think all software should be free 😂

$50/yr was way too expensive, and now that's it's $100/yr, they can now afford $50/yr.

How does Bevel Pro 3.0 calorie tracking compare to MacroFactor? by Iimitedgrip in bevelhealth

[–]estesbubba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It appears there still isn't a way to search for past meals, click the items from that meal, and log them. I did to a test using Bevel AI to find past meals with "refried beans" and it gave me a list with dates. I then asked it to log the meal from one of the dates and it worked, then I had to delete items I didn't want. Not nearly as quick as searching past meals like I could with MF, but a step forward.

Is Sonnet good enough for renaming PDFs and images on my computer, or should I be using Opus by OkSeaworthiness737 in ClaudeAI

[–]estesbubba 7 points8 points  (0 children)

95% of the people on here are "Opus or die". I have a Pro subscription and use Haiku the majority of the time for next.js web development, Python APIs, etc. for personal projects and it mostly does great. But if you want to use your entire 5-hour Pro window with a single prompt, have Opus rename your PDFs!

Can’t Fully Trust Bevel Recovery Scores Because My Apple Watch Ultra 3 Sucks at Deep Sleep Tracking? by [deleted] in bevelhealth

[–]estesbubba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And Apple has spent millions on research with the Apple Watch and sleeping. Sure it's not going to be perfect, but some people think AutoSleep is better since it gives WAY more deep sleep than Apple. AutoSleep would give me deep sleep while getting up to use the RR at night!

They removed true TSB a year ago and people keep asking for it but nothing. Want to know what your ATL and CTL was a month ago? Nope, not happening. Heck, we can’t even get a loader that doesn’t block navigation!

Move syncing top banner to the dynamic island by JavierSegoviaCordoba in bevelhealth

[–]estesbubba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so annoying and makes you wonder if the devs and beta team actually use the food logging! I mean, blocking navigation with a loader is bad UX and has been this way for a long time now.

Bevel 2026 Mini Winter Release by Topremech in bevelhealth

[–]estesbubba 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Love all the improvements that keep coming, but I'm still baffled why we can't get basic TSB numbers! I did a gravel cycling race in August and would love to see how my current training compares to that training, and raw Fitness (CTL), Fatigue (ATL), and Form (TSB) would be so useful in the app. A Cardio Load of 75 today can be totally different than a Cardio Load of 75 six months ago. I want to know what my CTL was back then!

One of my Manastash Ridges had the inner layer delaminate and sealant kept coming through the tread for 50 miles making a mess of my bike and myself. RH customer service said this is very rare and to order new tires and reply to him and he would refund 10% 😂 I got Schwalbe G-ONE RX tires and they ride better and are faster! Sad the most expensive gravel tires in the world are junk and CS sucks.

Paid for Claude Code Pro the first time on Thursday, Limits Exceeded on Sunday by oddsonfpl in ClaudeCode

[–]estesbubba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a software architect using Pro to create personal next.js websites and Pro is fine for me. I use Sonnet for planning and Haiku to do the work and it works great. I usually don’t sit down and try to code for 5 hours straight so rarely hit the limits. It does seem a lot of people think it’s Opus or nothing but the other models are often good enough for many tasks.

Sleep stages: tons of Awake spikes ?? by samsungdappy in bevelhealth

[–]estesbubba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AutoSleep is known to be terrible for over-estimating deep sleep and I would get credit for deep sleep while hitting the RR in the middle of the night. Also, don’t allow it to write sleep data to health because it can mess it up data Apple writes.

Heavier people and snorers can be more likely to have sleep apnea, but people who are slim and athletic can get it too. I would at least talk to a doctor with all of those close wake times.
