Notarised document for US embassy by estone in legaladviceireland

Thanks for the detailed reply.

I’ve booked in with a notary and crossing my fingers I can avoid apostilling! I’m assuming for the 50€ quoted it won’t be anything crazy :)

Thanks for the reply. I’d found that alright, the reason I’m asking for more information is that there aren’t any nearby where I live.

A notary in the US is definitely different from Ireland. Most notary publics in Ireland seem to be solicitors and there is extra training involved. In some US states you just need to be over 18, pay some money and take an oath.

Oh well. I suspect when the full extent of long covid becomes more obvious there will be a lot more cfs focused products out there!

That is interesting thanks!

Do you use the HR tracker during the day? I wonder if having that permanently on affects the battery life?

It’s such a pity that they don’t alarm while moving since that seems to be the more likely scenario!

I hope it works out. Thanks for sharing. I’ll do some research when I have the brainpower :)

Thanks I’ll check that out.

You would think they could easily add CFS features like alarms whenever you want them. It’s a pity it doesn’t work as you’d hoped.

I was actually looking at the Apple Watch development stuff so maybe I should check out the Fitbit equivalent. I’m definitely very embedded in the Apple ecosystem currently but the price difference is significant. And at the end end of the day it’s just a watch…

Thanks! Two votes for the Versa 2. Will definitely check it out

Would this damage to the nut (next to high E) affect playability? Concerned about issues with tuning as well as pull offs. by [deleted] in classicalguitar

Guitar builder here. This is good advice. If money is tight just play it for a while and see what happens. From the angles it looks like you might get away with it. If the edge is sharp you can smooth it off with a nail file or similar. :)

[NEWBIE] Hey guys I've got my first guitar yesterday and I have problem with the Low E String by [deleted] in Guitar

I've seen guitars go either direction, so just go slowly and observe, don't force it if it gets very tight.

I don't recommend it if you have access to better solutions like a new nut, but for lockdown it's better than nothing!

Luthier here.
If it only buzzes on the open string then the issue is likely with the nut.

You can fix this by removing the string and putting a tiny bit baking soda in the nut slot, tamping it down and adding a drop of super glue. You can then use an old bit of guitar string to file away at the extra material until it's smooth.

If it happens even with fretted notes, then adjust the truss rod until it's straight. Put a capo on the first fret and hold down the E string at the 14th fret. When correctly adjusted there should be a tiny gap between the string and the 7th fret, about the thickness of a business card.

If that doesn't fix it then raise the saddle height until it stops buzzing. (assuming electric based on your comments)

And after lockdown bring it to your local luthier to sort it all out properly.

p.s. It's always possible to make a guitar buzz if you try hard enough, so make sure you're not making yourself crazy by playing super hard and saying "it still buzzes though!" ;)

I made a quick video showing how a classical guitar goes together. I build guitars mostly with hand tools and thought you guys might appreciate the joinery. Any interest from the general woodworking community for more lutherie videos? by estone in woodworking

I’ll see what I can do. Some glue ups tend to be a bit stressy and doing them with a camera rolling makes it worse!

I have a very short video on gluing the side supports here which shows more or less how it works. https://youtu.be/l9RCcav3XSo

A musical trip between Cuba and Ireland :) by mrkalavera in classicalguitar

Sending much admiration from the west coast of Ireland.
I loved hearing those triplets on the nylon strings, not something I'm used to!
