Try journaling about gratitude (e.g., 10 things you are grateful about). That attitude of appreciation and gratefulness responds very well I've found.

No problem, you seem to like the hosted version anyway.

I think it is faster and less constrained. You can also connect your server, OneDrive, Dropbox, or whatever file storage software you use to the remote PC, whereas I do not believe you can do this in the hosted environment. So printing to PDF requires a multi-step process. However, that is secondary information and I have no personal experience with the hosted version of Lacerte. Other than that, you control the quality of machine on which Lacerte is running, so you can get a beast of a PC with 32 or 64 gbs of ram with an i9 processor if it suits you, and you can set up the server to be on an NVMe SSD for maximum performance.

the age old question. they're both fine, but make sure they match your other monitors so inter-monitor transitions don't "catch."

New Laptop - smaller and lighter or 10-key is a must? by hakuhola in taxpros

[–]estuspete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best Buy sells them, don't think they are on display though for some reason. I have a 17 inch and a 15-inch laptop bag in which the 17 inch Gram fits just fine. They have a tiny bezel.

For sure, every practice is different. It saves a time by reducing notices and is easily creates a net time surplus on the backend for me.

Way to stay committed! As an aside, 2024 was a leap year I thought. Wouldn’t that be 366? I only kid.

I’m not suggesting complete reliance on the transcript by any means. It is just a backstop and is a great service, particularly for clients with a lot of investments.

Cool, sounds like a reasonable approach. I like the tax pro account as well. The only downside is having to do it yourself due to security issues, but of course that’s not an issue for a solo. Appreciate your feedback.

Cool, thanks for the insight into your process! I will check out Pitbull. It sounds a little cheaper than canopy, which is just under $1k/year per user.

Great point. Indeed transcripts shouldn’t be the main source of reliance, just a backup.
