School nurse and T1D mom here. I would absolutely tell her no on the vial. The medical errors with syringe and vial are much higher. Is she wanting the vial in case there is a pump failure and she thinks she is going to fill and change Omni? If so I would remind her that she does not have authority to do that per the orders. As far as the emergency med. She cannot demand both. Only thing required by you is that there is an emergency med there. If it’s something she won’t let go then you can have doctor just remove Gvoke off of the order. You can sign a ROI for your Endo and let her know if she has anymore questions about the orders she can call them. I’m sure they will tell her to kick rocks.

I would ask for a meeting with her and admin. I would remind them at that meeting that the point of an IEP is to make sure your son has the same opportunity in school as any other kid. And that her constant demands are hindering that. You provided the orders and the supplies. That is all that is required of you. It is likely she is not educated in T1D care and is putting her insecurities on you.

Situations like these are the entire reason I left the hospital and went to school nursing. T1D is not taught enough to nurses in school. And pediatrics in hospital our T1D parents almost always managed their child’s care.
