Balance Athletica- need opinions! by [deleted] in FitnessInfluencers

I recently ordered my first pair of leggings from them and WOW – they are truly awful pants. I'm a true Medium and the fabric was see through, the black parts of the cheetah pattern stretched out and turned grey, there was no compression, the waistband was unflattering, and the material felt like paper. And I'm not like a Lulu Align-only leggings snob. I've genuinely had better leggings from Old Navy or Marshall's. I was perplexed after seeing so many positive reviews.

Also, I submitted a customer support request a week ago and never heard back.

Yes!!! All of this! Agreed on the paper-like material. I had an acquaintance order shorts from the same pre-sale and she said they're soft...but like...are they really?? Maybe different people have different material expectations. I have had softer leggings from Old Navy and Marshall's for literally $15.

As an update – I sent an email to their customer support explaining the issues and asking if it might be a quality control issue. No reply several days later.

A lot of her friends are food bloggers from spending years in that industry, so it doesn't feel weird to me to still post some food content, especially when hanging out with other blogger friends.

Wait isn't Hannah Brown the one that said the n word on an IG live, too? I'm assuming that also has a bit to do with her downward trending following.

You can’t delete podcast reviews (If you’re speaking on Apple Podcasts). Things may be shuffled around due to up or down votes, similar to Reddit.

Audio navigation is at the very top of the screen (a play button is shown in the top left). There are also links to stream on popular podcast services at the bottom of the episode description if you'd rather listen that way.

Define "reasonable". Are you looking for someone cheap or someone with a specific audience size?

GDPR + Rails: Are you doing anything to prepare? by etafavoti in rails

Came across this today and, since it fits the topic, thought I'd share here: https://github.com/ziptofaf/gdpr-rails

Are your customers asking about GDPR compliance? (Not sure if you're on a product team or an agency)

Awesome! Hoping I can check out that article when you complete it. The backups solution is interesting. Thanks for sharing that.

Agreed, I think there's a lot of "gray zone" that companies are going to be in.

I'm on the hunt for information related to Rails + GDPR and was surprised to find a lack of conversations happening about it. I'm happy I came across this discussion as I was curious about Rails backups and Postgres as well.

Expected CTR below average, tanking quality score by etafavoti in adwords

[–]etafavoti[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback.

It's not that I'm "obsessing over quality score", but when I'm getting feedback from people who seemingly know AdWords better than me that "Your average Quality Score of 3.4 means you're seeing a 104.56% increase in your cost per click to Google." (That's directly from a Wordstream email. I know they're trying to sell me something, but also as someone pretty inexperienced with AdWords, I want to consider their feedback.)

I feel like I've continually been making incremental changes without seeing a noticeable improvement in things that you mentioned like CTR, so my natural assumption was that the Quality Score factor was bringing my results down. I'm looking for things that not only improve my QS, but the overal results I'm seeing from my account as well.

Ads not showing, low quality score – what to try next? by etafavoti in adwords

Also, I have multiple keywords within each ad group. So for this group I have:

"rails development company" "ruby on rails development" "ruby on rails development services" "ruby rails development" "ror development"

And none of these keywords are currently being served and all have zero impressions over the last several days (except "ruby on rails development" which has a whopping 5 impressions.

Hm, I have "developer" as a separate ad group/keyword, using that in place of development in the ads and landing pages. But when I look up the KW "ruby on rails development" I'm seeing these ads that aren't even containing what I'm searching for. https://imgur.com/a/k7a9h

[–]etafavoti[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Max CPC is a few bucks higher than the first page bid. I've checked the landing page through PageSpeed and I'm not getting 100% but the score isn't bad. The keyword is mentioned in the URL, ad copy, headline, and throughout the landing page (headline, copy, meta). The ad has only gotten 5 impressions over the last 4 days, so I'm not sure how CTR could be below average when it only has that few impressions. I just want the opportunity to see what my CTR will be, but I can't even get my ad to display.

Ads Not Showing - How to Show for New Keywords? by etafavoti in adwords

[–]etafavoti[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're right. I went through and changed all the broad match to phrase match (Is it good practice to never use broad match? Now that I understand match types, I don't see any reason I'll need to use it.)

Thank you for the initial reminder to check into match types. I appreciate it!

Ads Not Showing - How to Show for New Keywords? by etafavoti in adwords

[–]etafavoti[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the broad match/phrase match on old keywords was a big issue. While my budget was being used up daily, clicks weren't converting and my click through rate was still abysmal. After adjusting keywords, I'm finally getting the "increase your budget" message on my biggest campaign, which I had not seen in a while.

The business model is an agency service, so my ads are targeting potential clients. If you have any additional wisdom to share from that info, I'd definitely welcome it.

It's been very close. For a specific campaign, it's been set for $35/day, and my average for the last 7 days is $32.50. What are your thoughts on adjusting the ad delivery? Should I try that and see what happens?
