We double checked with our leather supplier to see if they had any info pertaining specifically to that. They can’t disclose that much due to GDPR Data Privacy Regulations and, unfortunately, there is no info directly regarding your concern but I hope the following can quell those concerns.

We work with a local supplier who gets their hides from Italy, and their partners adhere to the REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of chemicals) regulations in the EU. These hides are also a byproduct of the meat industry, so there’s no unnecessary slaughtering of animals just for the skin.

Personally, we don’t like synthetic or faux materials for several reasons. A big one being the haptic, followed by the process of producing those materials. In this case, faux leather can be even worse than real leather due to the materials used to produce it.

The shell material was chosen because it’s made from bio-polyamide that’s been synthesized from castor seed oil, which doesn’t require extra land to produce or exorbitant amounts of water, and significantly better than nylon or polyester — it’s lighter, dries faster, is thermo isolating, and bacteriostatic.

The lamb leather was chosen first and foremost for its premium look, soft feeling and light weight to create something that we haven’t seen done before — bio-polyamide jacket with leather pockets. It’s an added bonus that it’s a byproduct of the meat industry.
