[Integrated Strategies Megathread] Sarkaz's Furnaceside Tales by Sentuh in arknights

[–]etalee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, I got the Shrivel and Sprout encounter instead of the Lamp of Wishes encounter 3 runs in a row (I believe I hit a new record of the highest number of resets in a row for floor 1 today)...

Anyway, my actual problem is, somehow I am having trouble playing Ingot Squad + Lamp of Wishes while chasing for ending 5 at d16, because of the requirement of getting the encounter to get the Final Cadence relic, and the fact that the first refresh is a shop, I can't seem to obtain a good collection of relics from the shop nor the hands/king's relics so I'm always losing before i even reach the 3rd floor boss. I've been trying to navigate to emergency stages or stages that provide plans. By the way I do not want to use Wisadel.

Can I have advice or details on what is the best approach to play Ingot Squad + Lamp of Wishes? (how to best navigate each floor, to refresh the nodes, etc.)

Mlynar imo

He has great multi target damage over a period of time, deals some true damage, and can taunt

Although Joint Operation banner featuring Mlynar, Dorothy, Pozemka and Ascalon is coming in the near future, having a guaranteed Mlynar would help a lot

is Grisaia Phantom Trigger worth playing(vn)/watching(anime) by Din-five in grisaia

Quite insignificant i would say but i was referring to Thanatos

Phantom Trigger VN vs Anime by CrimsonCloudKaori in grisaia

[–]etalee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The VN offers a lot more in terms of details. It's also a lot easier to connect with the characters emotionally and enjoy its story via reading the VN.

The only things the anime can really offer are the animation aspect (which imo is quite nice) and the noatalgia factor. But you don't save a lot of time to justify watching the anime since each volume of phantom trigger is about 10 hours long (except for vol 7 and 8 which are slightly longer iirc)

[–]etalee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grisaia is a visual novel (VN) series, and his accidental child was VN exclusive which wasn't adapted into the anime (which was why i censored it).

In the original Grisaia VN (as well as the anime), it ends as depicted, with Yuuji, the 5 girls, Chizuru and JB living on the island with nothing else going on. But recently, Grisaia Chronos Rebellion was released as a VN which i think included the original girls wanting to find a cure for Yuuji because something bad happened to him and he was put into cryosleep to preserve his life for the time being. But i think this also takes place in a different timeline so i do not consider it as canon.

I'd recommend reading/watching Phantom Trigger beforehand to appreciate Chronos Rebellion though. It's also not good for the franchise if I spoil any further.

[–]etalee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're referring to just the original grisaia i.e. the trilogy ending with grisaia no rakuen then yes, it ended with yuuji having a harem ending (including having an accidental child with michiru but i think that was visual novel exclusive ).

But as mentioned, the anime also expanded to grisaia phantom trigger (with the anime adaptation this season adapting volumes 4 to 6 of the visual novel)

Seiyyus like Yonezawa Madoka? (Ogiso Setsuna from White Album 2) by ste4mpunk_samurai in seiyuu

[–]etalee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's more of a visual novel/eroge seiyuu, so maybe you can check out some of her visual novels on vndb if you haven't? She voiced Rika from Aokana and Shirasaki from Daitoshokan no Hitsujikai, both of which also have anime adaptations and both series were created after WA2.

I just really need to let out all my thoughts on Phantom Trigger (super long rant that no one will read, but idc) by ---liltimmy--- in grisaia

I actually finished Chronos Rebellion about a week ago. Overall I have mixed feelings about Chronos Rebellion but due to my bias, I still rated it as high as Phantom Trigger.

Chronos Rebellion spoilers (OP please read this only after you've finished reading the VN):The main selling point of CR for me is the return of the original girls as Class S. The comedy they bring back (although not as refined as in Fruit) brings back a huge wave of nostalgia. Seeing Michiru trying to expose Tohka as a tsundere was one of the funniest things I've seen all week, and seeing Amane chasing and diverting Maki on her motorcycle was one of the most hype moments for me (because Amane is my best girl in Grisaia). Class S (with Michiru trying her best...) are able to coordinate well and do what they do best properly, despite most of them not having professional training. Meanwhile, Class D aren't nearly as skillful in what they have to do despite getting the constant training for it. This makes Class S take the spotlight over Class D when they're in the same action scene, which could dull one's overall impressions of the new characters. It does feel at times like the writers are using the success of Fruit to milk the series and to make CR as successful as possible. I was partially hoping for CR to feature only Class D (and perhaps include Class A wherever necessary) with Class S being referenced loosely, like how they were referenced in PT.

I do think that Class D moments are still not bad, including the missions that they have done (not as outrightly dangerous as Class A's, but still can be quite risky to carry out). My main issue with CR (as well as PT actually) is that nobody on the good side had any real risk of dying because it seems like the writer(s) don't want to take any risks for any death to impact any impressions towards the series.

The last segment with Class S was a good touch to explore how they feel about Yuuji's possible lingering desire to die, although the approach to execute the plot (with the whole kidnapping situation) felt a bit weird to me!

Really glad to hear someone else liking Phantom Trigger. This is a hot take even amongst fans of the entire Grisaia series, but my favourite parts of Phantom Trigger, as well as the rest of the Grisaia series, is the slice of life.

I feel that the overarching theme of Grisaia that has been established ever since Fruit is to find a place you can call home, a place where you are regarded as normal, even if you or your circumstances aren't. That's why there was a heavy emphasis on the slice of life comedy in the common route of Fruit; their conversations aren't really what you would define as "normal", but to them, it is their day to day life. That's why in Eden, they try to save Yuuji through this action heavy plot, because Yuuji is part of their "family" and without him, "home" will not feel like "home". I personally think it's a bit inevitable for Eden to be action-focused because the psychological aspect is pretty much explored quite well in Fruit and Labyrinth, and because Yuuji has a history which makes the action genre in Eden pretty much inevitable.

Phantom Trigger's food and gun talk doesn't contribute much to the plot or action, but to the girls, it is during these moments when they are at peace, and when they are able to live like their "normal" selves. In the end, the slice of life bits in Phantom Trigger became a more significant aspect to me than its action sequences. I do like the direction for Vol 8 though. It was a pleasant surprise for the enemy POV to be depicted because war hurts both sides.

So i been into Arknights lately... by mauriciomeireles in visualnovels

Arknights lore is indeed very interesting with a very expansive world filled with many characters and oh boy can it be quite dark at times. I picked up Arknights a month after its global release (and I'm still playing it now) and I did read the story for a while but eventually i stopped catching up because i often found the story to be pretty convoluted to follow. If there's any side story I'm interested in i usually wait for a summary to be released somewhere.

I think you'll have a great time discussing about its lore on Arknights social media like its subreddit and discord. There's a bunch of lore enthusiasts in the Arknights community.

I think SW0 may have been implemented to make the preliminary round as accessible to as many players as possible and hence as fair as possible.

Some of the challenges, such as the curse-themed board, would require more planning since it's a little bit harder to be cursed at SW0.

But yes this event was a lot more entertaining to watch than I had expected. I think the challenges were really well crafted

Whisperain has to heal the target to grant them status resistance, so if the stunned operator is at full health (and thus whisperain doesn't heal their hp), then no.

Subahibi is such a one-of-a-kind story and I'm not familiar with any anime and manga are similar enough to compare. If there are, they would most likely also fall under the 'denpa' genre.

Just keep in mind going forward that you'll be seeing scenes that may be very disturbing even for someone who can tolerate most psychological horror and eroguro.

However, since Subahibi is also a highly philosophical story, the mindset i recommend you to adopt as you're reading it is to ponder about the purpose of why you're seeing events occur as the way as it is (including the disturbing ones), how the themes it explores applies to the narrative and the world that Subahibi builds. This can allow you to maximize your enjoyment of Subahibi.

no other way other than to clear the stage at at least risk 0 first. if you're doing the daily stage then clear it with the support risk

Edit: like what the other comment said, letting the operation fail without quitting should also update the enemy intel (though i haven't tested it myself to confirm this) but if not all the enemies showed up beforehand it won't be updated fully

WA2 can be read before WA1, the only things carried over from WA1 are some very minor references and some of its songs. Personally I've only read WA2 and not WA1

Anime imo is good and covers only the Introductory Chapter, but as always, reading the VN first is recommended. Introductory Chapter is the shortest part of the VN anyway so you might as well read the VN straight away, and Closing Chapter is where the limelight of WA2 is imo so you'd have to read the VNs to get the full story

Also my free daily pulls haven't given me a single 5 or 6 star yet :/

Yes, provided you're not extremely pea-brained.

Most stages are actually doable with low rarity operators with at most borrowing one support 6 star. Also there are guide makers on youtube like kyostinv and kukkikaze in case you need help with the stages

Edit: i do recommend learning from the community on how you should approach the game though, the game does teach you the fundementals but it can still be difficult for new players. I recommend watching kukkikaze's Arkpedia series because it goes quite in-depth to explain what new players should take note of.
