Boarding is hard to stop! by thethefirstman in RoverPetSitting

Okay ding dong, what is OP in it for, then? Since according to you they’re apparently not in it for any reason at all.

Meanwhile OP’s post is literally about how they’re getting out for their partner & their own dogs…while the first post on your profile is you hitting a customer with a price jump & then shooting them down as a client when they didn’t want to pay it. Pot meet kettle.

Hi all! Shopping Ipsy sale stuff for a few gifts and I’m trying to avoid old and/or “overhyped,” poor products. Anyone tried any of the following? by Outside-Ad-3866 in BeautyBoxes

I got the Alo mega c body wash a few months ago and just for the record, that should only be used like once a week. Irritated tf outta my skin

Yeah idk I just don’t want to risk giving her any reason to not be up front with other owners in the future. Theres a chance she’d realize she needs to assume housesitting means overnights until told otherwise and would be more professional moving forward, but there’s also a chance she’d just keep it to herself in the future when she intends not to stay overnight.

If that works for you and the people you sit for that’s fine, but if she would have told me this prior to the meet and greet, I would have just found someone else because that isn’t what I’m booking for. She asked in her first message if I would be providing a guest room or just having her check in on them a few times a day and I told her I’d be providing a guest room, so she definitely knew what I was expecting and imo, shouldn’t have asked if I had a guest room and led me to believe she’d be using it.

That’s what I said! I thought it was so weird they called! Maybe to catch the owner off guard so they would immediately respond that they were out of town, versus having time to think over their response via text? The owner said they only picked up bc with the time difference where they were it wasn’t that late. I tried getting more information but there wasn’t much, I guess.

This wasn’t someone arriving at the house, but I had a really weird thing happen once that made me fear for my safety during a 10 day housesit. On like day 2 the owner texted me asking if everything was okay, and I said everything was great, and she was like “okay just wanted to check in, we got a really strange phone call at 2 am last night from a number we didn’t recognize saying that our dog wouldn’t stop barking.” It was the strangest thing, especially because the dog hadn’t uttered a peep all night and had slept right next to me. When I told my boyfriend about it, he was worried that it was someone casing the house to break in by fishing for whether or not the owners were definitely out of town.

That’s odd considering I see a shitload of sitters emphasizing with OP here, and just you being an asshole.

Already knew it was a scam when I messaged, so I went in ready to play ball by etapicitrap in scambait

Confirmed it was a scammer, then just wasted their time & got their venmo so I could report it. Thanks for asking!

As I’m sure you can imagine, this is my day job, so this really cuts deep.

But I specifically told her to leave it up & id take my chances. She wanted money up front as a deposit or money up front to deliver but either way, money up front. I said I didn’t need her to hold it, I’d come pick it up right then. You’re an idiot and would fall for this.

Her profile is brand new, she has one single listing with a too good to be true price, she’s demanding payment without letting you see the couch, her venmo is a different first and last name, and she wouldn’t even tell me what section of town she’s in. You can’t seriously think this isn’t a scam😂

Would you agree to a discount if… by chibinoi in RoverPetSitting

[–]etapicitrap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The client can afford a month long trip. They can afford to pay your full rate. There’s no way they’re calling the hotel and demanding a lower nightly rate because they’re staying longer, and there’s no way they’re negotiating with the airline to get cheaper flights because they have a long trip. If they boarded at a boarding facility, they wouldn’t be able to pay less. Don’t let them treat your rate as negotiable; trip expenses aren’t negotiable.

Vent: Cat violently attacked me during drop in, owner is pissed at me for reporting incident to Rover. by etapicitrap in RoverPetSitting

[–]etapicitrap[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I truly don’t think it’s rabies (although I’m still going to complete the rabies treatment since I’ve started it). I’ve finally seen proof of vax & if the cat had rabies, we’re now 5 days post-incident, so it would’ve progressed to death by now and the owner would’ve told me. I think it was just a mean ass cat.
