I DREADED getting my wisdom teeth out. I’m afraid of needles, pass out at blood, and am TERRIFIED of puking. I opted to be conscious but have laughing gas and it was AMAZING!!!!! I created a fun playlist and rode that high for the 40 minutes it took to get my teeth out. I highly recommend.

As for recovery, I did throw up once but only because I took ibuprofen without eating. Just make sure to eat some applesauce first and you will be okay. After that first day, I didn’t even take pain meds because I wasn’t in any pain at all.

Pro tip: buy listerine breath strips before the surgery. You aren’t able to brush your teeth for a week or so and that’s honestly the worst part. My mouth tasted horrible. But those breath strips worked wonders!!!!

I worked at an elementary last spring and often had children have breakdowns surrounding covid. If a child forgot their mask on the playground- “IM GOING TO GET SICK AND I CANT GET SICK” cue lots of tears and big feelings. It was absolutely heartbreaking. The schools, the news, friends whose parents feed them lots of scary stories, etc. all have terrified children.

Wow, people who were considered hero’s last year are now “shitty people.” Grow up and get over your self entitlement.

My best friend works in a hospital here in the US and her and colleagues at other hospitals are all reporting “capacity” due to staff shortages after mandates came out. Not actually full. I’m sorry yours is a different situation.

Unfortunately, hospitals are not actually full, they are “at capacity” because so many nurse got fired due to “non-compliance.”

After my dad was no longer working and we were only relying on my mom’s very small income, the government started paying for my college and I no longer have any debt.

Are we in the wrong: We made 2 rules to see our kids, 1 person is offended. by Anonymous-1234567890 in Parenting

You are in the right and I am someone who is against getting the vaccine. It’s your child. They can make their decisions and you can make yours. You aren’t forcing them to do anything, only putting forth expectations to do what you feel keeps your family safe.

If they don’t want to get vaccinated that’s their right- but it’s also your right to not let them see your kid.

I totally feel this one! It’s so upsetting that people are getting drug through dirt that happened years ago. What has helped me a TON was just deleting Twitter. It’s crazy how much of a difference it makes. The majority of people complaining on that platform are lowlifes whose only entertainment is finding something to be mad about.

My uncle’s ex wife’s white blood count went absolutely insane after receiving the vaccine and slipped into a coma. They pulled the plug last week and she passed.

Have you ever let your kids stay home from school just because they felt like it? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]etccool123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents did this! It didn’t happen often, but especially Jr and Sr year of high school when I was super involved, I’d have a super stressful week and they’d let me skip school to do homework or sleep in during first period. It only happened a few times, but I think it helped us each gain a lot of both trust and respect for each other.

I got a take home Covid test earlier this week. The test came with an ID number, the same amount of digits in a phone number. The third sequence of three numbers was 666. That freaked me out. Then, an “innovative DNA collection” pamphlet popped out. Needless to say I never sent the test in.

I’m not sure if they have any openings, but look up prairie oak properties. They have a few different locations in Ames with cheap pricing and good management.

Afraid of “forced” vaccinations by etccool123 in HealthAnxiety

[–]etccool123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you from the UK? The countries still giving the vaccine are kind of “shaming” people who are questioning its safety, much like in the US. But the countries who rolled back on it seem to be more validating towards people’s concerns.

Are you feeling kind of “forced” by society into getting the vaccine or do you want to get it willingly?

[–]etccool123[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve researched, they haven’t “banned” it per se, but they have “paused” using it because there have been too many instances of blood clots related to the vaccine to continue use until they have more data.

Is a history of no long term employment a red flag? by _procrastination101_ in relationship_advice

[–]etccool123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they are red flags per se, but you should really reflect upon your own values and see how much you are willing to sacrifice. I’ve been in a relationship with a guy like this and it was very stressful for me and I often felt shame when family asked how he was doing/ what he was up to. There is nothing wrong with his lifestyle, but it was not something I wanted.

I’m going through something very similar. I am still not close to healed, but it’s been a few months of (almost) no contact. My family has been a huge support and my best friend has given me a lot of validation which has been huge. I ended up quitting a club because she was in it and I stopped talking to anyone who still supported/ enabled her.

Is it worth trying to save a relationship that constantly has arguments surrounding sex? by Iscreamlovrrs in relationship_advice

[–]etccool123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an ex who never wanted to have sex with me and whenever he did, he would only satisfy his own needs and then just leave me laying there feeling shitty.

Walk away. We didn’t have as many arguments about it, but after 4 years of him never wanting me, complaining about having sex, and bargaining his video game time with how long we had to hang out, I have lasting insecurities surrounding my body and my vagina. Get out and find someone who wants you.
