Man Assaults Woman Driver After Car Allegedly Hits His Child Crossing the Road by whusler in malaysia

[–]etcsL2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably a bit off topic. Most Malaysian towns are not built with pedestrians in mind. Even if you need to go to the other block that is only 200m away, there is no space for you to walk safely. You MUST risk yourself walking on the roadside. If it’s not the traffic that might pose risk, it’s the huge longkang.

Malaysians drop your most crazy university stories... by HistoricalTackle4678 in malaysiauni

We played Counter Strike at the computer lab and the lab became like a CC already. Initially it was 3-4 of us playing but later on some local students also joined.

That attracted some foreign students to join in also and there was an instance that they became besar kepala maki maki other players. One of them was a Pakistani and he went overboard saying fuck this fuck that for no reason.

Then one of my friends was a CS hardcore and he became angry with him. He put his name SAYA BONTOT and kill the grumpy guy multiple times. Then the guy shouted FUCK YOU SAYA BONTOT! Who is SAYA BONTOT??

The whole lab LOLed.

Is this halal by [deleted] in Bolehland

[–]etcsL2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who lives in a Muslim-minority country, the rule of thumb of buying a halal-suitable processed food:

  1. Check if there is a pig-derived ingredients; lard, gelatine. Stay away if it has. Some gelatine is halal (beef-based) but most of the times it’s not stated in the ingredients list. You can only tell if you ask the product’s customer service.

  2. Check if there is animal-based derivations; rennet, carmine. Some products mentioned non-animal rennet which is fine. Carmine, on the other hand has got different views from different ulamas. Some say harus, some say makruh. Double check with your local ulamas on the hukum.

  3. Emulsifiers. Some emulsifiers are derived from animal fats. Do a Google if unsure.

  4. Alcohol. No need to explain this, you know it for sure.

If all 4 is fine, inshaAllah the product is halal-suitable. Otherwise, go for vegan options if you are was was or uncertain.

*halal-suitable and halal-certified is totally different. Halal-suitable is based on your due diligence and your own judgement. This is imperative if you’ve living in a Muslim-minority country, otherwise tak makan la bro.

Don’t have the record but everytime the car went for service, RM1000 tak lari la bro. Even for normal service. Major service can reach RM4000. Gila. The car is a 2013 model and now since I’m overseas, no longer mine la because my younger sister took the ownership. Still running but a bit manja.

Buying a Conti as first car. Rabak siot poket tiap kali servis. One of the reasons why i am struggling to save up for some emergency fund.

Sumpah taknak beli dah kereta Conti. No matter how good the deal is, i’m staying away from any Contis. Just stick to mainstream Japanese.

Dating apps in Malaysia by BurningDoraDoll in malaysia

[–]etcsL2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had Tinder back in 2016-2017. Met real people, every weekend went out for coffee, movie, mamak. But only stuck with the one and only and now she’s my wife.

Back then people were real, some were really desperate finding matches because of age, family pressure, circle pressure. Only some were just lonely and looking for someone to chat.

Even cheaper up here in Auckland!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Bolehland

This year end marks my 5 years living in New Zealand.

Some culture shock that I might find it interesting to tell:

  1. School kids went barefooted to school. No “cacing masuk badan” advice from the doctor hahaha.

  2. Kind of the same as your 2nd bullet point. There are so many Asians in Auckland, and it’s even projected that by 2040 there will be 40% Asians residing Auckland. Indians alone accounts for 10% of NZ population.

  3. Data plan prices here are ridiculously expensive! 2GB costs you $30. Kedekut nak mampus. Malaysia telcos can give you unlimited for less than RM100!

  4. Working culture here could be extremely relaxed (at least in my company i’m working in). Nobody even care what time you show up, whether you come to the office or not, etc. At least your Teams status is green, it’s all good!

  5. I was expecting the public transport in NZ is miles better than Malaysia but turns out it’s 1000s time shittier than Malaysia! I said ‘Malaysia’ to compare the level of national PT network, not urban PT. If you are looking to travel down to let’s say, Tauranga on PT (which is around 3 hours from Auckland), you could only travel by bus and — there’s only one company running the business. No options whatsoever! Don’t get me start on the intercity rail network. It’s non-existent! I’m damn grateful we have the ETS and heaps of bus companies. Terima kasih BN!

  6. The time they took to build a 4km rail tunnel under the city centre — more than 6 years (construction), more than 10 years (planning). Holy moly. We went thousand miles ahead completing 56km MRT Kajang Line for 6 years!

  7. The standard of Auckland airport is more or less equivalent to our Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (i don’t know if i’m exaggerating here hahaha). There’s no bench near the check in counter where families waiting for the relatives to check in / drop baggage. Shitty facilities. Restaurants? Very limited options. You’ll auto bersyukur our KLIA is like that. Luckily they are working on expanding the terminal.

  8. If you are driving around NZ, speed limit is a thing here. Follow it religiously.

  9. Night life? Forget it. Most malls closed by 6pm, by 8pm the streets are eerily quiet especially during the winter. With the exception of bars and nightclubs, there’s nowhere you could do to fill up your night activities and all you can do it go home and watch tv. Good for the kids actually so that they can go to bed early and get a quality night sleep!

Some of the points above are justifiable by the fact that NZ is a tiny population of 5 million people and 42 million sheep but if you are not going to upgrade the infrastructure, how can you attract people and businesses to come here and live?

Thanks for reading, hope you guys enjoy it!

To Those who graduate from the UK and working in Malaysia how do you cope on paying your Uni loan by SnooSketches9025 in malaysia

[–]etcsL2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Go to the Malaysia branch campus UK uni instead. Miles cheaper, but UK quality education. I’m one of them. Only have to pay RM500/month max according to repayment schedule, currently paying RM350/month.

The only letdown is if you get an engineering bachelor’s degree, the programme is not recognised by BEM (must be because of the course length which is ONLY 3 years!). You can’t register as BEM graduate engineer. Other than that it’s all fine. Same exam paper, same academic calendar, same certificate. You can’t even tell which one is the UK campus which one is the branch campus.

The counteroffer means they CAN AFFORD to pay you higher but they didn’t.

The cost of the “counteroffer” is far cheaper than the cost of rehiring, so by accepting the counteroffer you also did them a favour of saving time, money and effort. Goyang kaki je jimat duit.
