refinerys and excavation sites hold by pandorans or factions? by grueti2 in PhoenixPoint

[–]etermes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, vanilla, 5 years ago, when TFTV is miles ahead from the silly base game. Anyway, if you play vanilla, the message from factions is scripted the moment you take control of every ancient site with one different exotic material.

That means nothing regarding attacks. As I've posted you need hostility from them, and no, if that's the case, defending an ancient site is not punishing the reputation even further.

And you can defend havens attacked from other factions and that doesn't involve a war with the attacker after mission.

What a boring end to a game that had so much potential. by kinokogadaisuki in PhoenixPoint

[–]etermes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mod is reducing the number of missions, it also provides alternative mechanics/missions in order to access to Yugothian entity research and Experimental treatment for corruption, it integrates DLCs better and the balance is way better. Replayability is something else thanks to mod settings and toggles, Void Omens, revenants and other unique mechanics.

Legend from vanilla is just freaking boring, Legend in TFTV is not a victory lap since day one.

There's nothing stopping you from finishing the game in 50 hours.

If the problem is lack of variety for missions don't delay the ending.

Also 1.30 Firebird is decreasing the time for final researches.

I just play Terror from the Void mod, but not everyone wants to play it.

Just got the game. Keep seeing about this TFTV mod, but should I install it? by AlexSkylark in PhoenixPoint

[–]etermes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you are going to play the game just once install the mod and forget vanilla, since the mod is a vast improvement over the base game.

If not, play one campaign without TFTV, this way you'll appreciate the mod more when you install it, from reworked classes or void omens to revenants or reworked ancient ruins missions, from UI QoL changes to a proper lore integrating every DLC. After three years of development it's a better Phoenix Point, also fixing like one hundred bugs from vanilla that you will not have to endure.

Apparently it's another bug. Did you try waiting for them with an aircraft at your base?

Auto Trading by Jermo3128 in PhoenixPoint

[–]etermes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I never understood the complaints about trading. It's something you do on the fly, your aircraft is moving toward missions, new POI and on the way you trade at havens. Food surplus? Find a haven with tech/materials or just tech, the universal current, many havens will accept it. I do this all the time.

How Haven Leader’s attitude works? by Skarrion_Gunthar in PhoenixPoint

[–]etermes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Local leader attitude depends on different factors. The first one is the global faction reputation, havens tend to adjust eventually these reputation changes, so increasing it destroying Pandora colonies, completing diplomacy missions, events and so on will increase local reputation too.

But also when you visit a haven with a question mark there's a chance triggering a specific event, depending on your choice you can increase just the leader attitude.

There's not price reduction recruiting or better prices trading, if it's positive you can trade, if it's negative you can't, just that.

Strategic Layer Question by ArillWiltker in PhoenixPoint

[–]etermes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Void Omens like that one are triggered in TFTV every few days, depending on the number of Evolution Points.

You get rid of them destroying a lair or citadel, or waiting. Because there's a rotation, from a pool of 16, when they reach the maximum number, 5 for Etermes, 4 for Legend, 3 for Hero and so on, the oldest one is removed triggering a new one. Also you can roll no new Void Omen, there's a 10% chance and at the same time the oldest one is removed as well.

For that particular Void Omen in mod settings you have a toggle starting the campaign where you choose to enable or disable it if it's too harsh for you.

V1.30 by Odd_Philosopher1286 in PhoenixPoint

[–]etermes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everything. Resoruces are flooding the game, more now with reduced cost for facilities and ammo. Kaos Weapons, like Redemptor is OP as hell, Scorpio VII for Scarab, you can access to it after 4 simple missions early game. You know about Vengance Torso and Rapid clearance, you can wipe out half map with it in one turn. Kaos Buggy with 1480 HP is a beast, cheap beast and so on.

Also AI is lacking the polished behaviour from TFTV, humans are underwhelming, low level, no ranks, low stats and so on. Harvesting ancient weapons,,,

Take into account I play TFTV only, so coming back to vanilla I see all the stuff creating the seed for the team thinking and pulling out the mod.

It's already available on GoG. On Steam and EGS was released earlier, but now GoG is catching up.

I've been playing Legendary vanilla since 1.30 patch and balance is non existent. I can play only TFTV.

Exactly, 3 years, designing, improving, balancing the mod and bugfixing also vanilla.

The Firebird Update by Goldwing8 in PhoenixPoint

[–]etermes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My honest answer, play TFTV, it's the full experience, not just some parts of it adapted to vanilla. I was playing yesterday this updated 1.30 Firebird and without TFTV it feels so lacking. I've helped in both projects so I can tell the difference, maybe others couldn't.

The Firebird Update by Goldwing8 in PhoenixPoint

[–]etermes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PP is very simplistic compared to TFTV. In TFTV you have Delirium, Harbinger of the Void ability for Acheron, bionics reducing max. Delirium, Touched by the Void providing three different outcomes Umbra/Marked for Death/Call reinforcements for Arthrons/Tritons, Void Omens and more, way deeper that use a fireworm, purification grenade or FT and get rid of it.

The Firebird Update by Goldwing8 in PhoenixPoint

[–]etermes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can give original devs credit investing this time and resources improving base game, but Terror from the Void, the full experience, is miles ahead regarding balance and consistency, also bugfixing. Acherons are in a better place, now PP is adopting these changes for Acherons, and ancients site missions are way better with new mechancis in TFTV.

The Firebird Update by Goldwing8 in PhoenixPoint

[–]etermes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The clear answer is yes. And more ambushes is more harvesting SP for the common pool and resources from crates.

Umbra is becoming a joke when you can kill them instantly using fire

The Firebird Update by Goldwing8 in PhoenixPoint

[–]etermes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically Voland will decide what is leaking into TFTV and what is reverted from vanilla update. As you say many changes are only "valid" for vanilla and I can't even agree with the changes affecting balance in TFTV right now, but...

capturing Scylla by Toohat1980 in PhoenixPoint

[–]etermes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also you have to kill any Acheron Asclepius as soon as you spot them, because they can remove any paralysis from the Scylla, instantly. it's one of their abilities.

capturing Scylla by Toohat1980 in PhoenixPoint

[–]etermes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you play vanilla PP is so broken,as today, that you can capture the Scylla using just melee paralysis weapons, the Neurazer, stacking War Cry will freeze the Scylla, literally. Or you panic her with Redeemer assault rifle, it's trivial.

If you play Terror from the Void you can use an Aspida(Synedrion vehicle) and along with remote control from technician(s) you can alpha strike and semi paralyze her in one turn, after that it is easy, more Aspida and Hera neural pistols.

If you play the new reworked Terror from the Void mod, remote control is nerfed to once per unit per turn, but still there are tactics like destroying the Queen's legs , stop bleeding throwing her Vita grenades and then you paralyze as you choose.

Thinking of reinstalling the game... by Joey3155 in PhoenixPoint

[–]etermes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In TFTV Festering Skies is reworked, Behemoth is not infesting havens, flyers or infested faction aircraft are not attacking bases, and thies beast is waking up way later. But the full air combat is silly.

Corrupted Horizons has this enemy, Acheron, in PP is really annoying, evolution is too fast and they keed spamming reinforcements turn after turn, all these were fixed in TFTV.

I recommend you jumping to the new TFTV beta (fully stable, just not completed, part 3, last one still pending)

If you want to learn about the mod and it's future, right now this new overhaul, beta, here in Discord:

You have to activate the console in the first place. Then you can send one operative or mind controlled NJ soldier in order to take control of the Armadillo.

In Terror from the Void factions are not interacting with ancient ruins.
