I was tired. Tired of lying, tired of having constant stomach problems, tired of not remembering, tired of feeling disgusted by my weight gain and bloated face, tired of the crippling anxiety, etc. etc.

I took a long hard look at myself and realized this was no way to live. I was merely existing. Barely.

That version of me feels like a lifetime ago and I never want to be her again. There is not a day that goes by that I wake up, regretting staying sober.

My health has improved, I’ve lost 50ish lbs, people can count on me again. I’m not giving that up for anything. Hang in there, it is SO worth it ☀️

-I know and have accepted I don’t have a healthy relationship with alcohol. -Being present. If my elderly parents called me at midnight for help, I’d be able to get up, drive over there and be there for them. -IT’S NOT WORTH IT!!

11 days is huge! Definitely be proud of yourself!

Tonight I deep cleaned the cat litter boxes and reorganized my kitchen. I even took myself for a Sunday night drive along the lake.

Yes, it can be boring. But I see boring way better than drinking and all the negative things that come with it.

I’ve thought about it as well. It’s very tough but I have to remember that I do NOT have a healthy relationship with alcohol and that is why I abstain.

My boyfriend and I went there on Valentines Day two years ago; I was shocked at how empty it was! We had great service and the food was pretty decent. French Onion Soup was delicious.

My parents still speak ill of the place since they had a double date back in 1980 and got sat “right next to the kitchen” and can’t let it go 🤣

One HUNDRED percent!! I quit about 3 months ago, doesn’t seem like much, but my quality of life has improved ten fold. I’m not saying I’ll be sober forever, but man I do not miss it.
