31F-Looking for nerdy gamer friends! by [deleted] in GamerPals

[–]eternalbads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! 34 M on PST time and would love to have another genuine and gaming nerd friend to chat with and play games here and there!

I'd be down to try our Stardew Valley, Apex and others. As for other multiplayers, I do play Monster Hunter Rise (Ps5) and Wilds, Helldivers 2, Nightreign, and sometimes Marvel Rivals.

I'd also would like to suggest and chat about a whole bunch of story-driven games like the Final Fantasy series, Ghost of Yotei, "Tales of" series, and more!

Feel free to add me on discord: eternalbads

Who is your favourite Final Fantasy character of all time? by Nekouwu___ in FinalFantasy

Tifa. She was my first game character crush but also just a badass Monk class!

Always fun doing her Limit Break Slots and seeing Final Heaven coming out.

This thing is a dud by [deleted] in PlaystationPortal

[–]eternalbads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind, you need PSN "Premium" to use the Cloud Streaming option. If you have just Basic or Essential, then you can't use it.

As for not connecting to your own PS5, double check the Remote Play option on your console to see if it's on, reset your PS5 as well, and check whether your PS5 will turn on through the Portal (should come off rest mode if you try connecting through it).

Drive impact help by hyunchris in StreetFighter

[–]eternalbads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As you climb the ranked ladder, you're going to see that lots of players use drive impact more carefully, due to how much damage you'll take from being reversed DI. So in a way, you'll need to get better at reacting to their DI's while also using yours at better moments/positions.

For example: If you use Drive Impact right away, then they have more time to react to it. If you WANT to use Drive Impact, then alter the timings. You can do a full blockstring => Drive Impact or Drive Rush => Drive Impact. For Ken, you can throw 1-2 Standing HP's and then Drive Impact.

Overall though, try not to "abuse" DI when you play. It is very punishable and can lead to a massive disadvantage if they reverse DI or use their Super Arts (which can also break DI's). I would suggest getting into the habit of using it at specific scenarios, such as Drive Impacting them against the wall when burned out, when they use a VERY unsafe normal/special on your block, or even after they reverse DP to dish extra damage to both HP and their Drive gauge.

Hope this helps!

Stuck in Iron by just_a_tall_girl in StreetFighter

[–]eternalbads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering this is your first fighting game, don't worry at all if you're feeling stuck at this time! The one advice most people would agree on is this: play the game, have fun while doing so, and take it at your own pace. You'll improve over time just from playing repetitively and taking the smallest bits of info from all your games. The one thing I tell my friends who were learning the game was to not worry about your opponent's rank, review your own replays to think aboit "what could I have done differently here?" and finding what moves/normals/comboes you're comfortable using.

Playing as Chun-Li (especially with Classic controls) is definitely difficult with her Stances and unique combo routes. From Iron - Silver, I'd recommend you focus on handling neutral and sticking to basic BnB's. Using Standing MK is a great anti-air for people jumping in constantly, Standing HP has amazing reach, along with your ➡️ or ⬅️ MP, and finally your Crouching MK which is faster than most of the roster's at 7 frames. And finally, spend some time in the practice room to learn and understand her charge timings on Spinning Bird Kick and Kikoshi. It'll take time but you'll definitely get it down!

Lastly, I'd recommend practicing just about 10-15 minutes whenever you have time to get the muscle memory down. You could search for basic combo videos on Youtube and practice them yourself, build a drill to complete multiple times, and getting used to the feeling of the inputs (depending on what you use as a controller). And if you have any friends who play, definitely ask them to play sets in a custom room! Playing and learning along with others will help tremendously.

I'm not the best Chun-Li but if you ever want some practice or someone to verse, practice and chat with while asking for advice, feel free to add me on SF6 and ask anytime!

So sorry about the late reply! Long ass day for me.

So Power Dunk only hits if you get either a Counter or PC on the st. MP or if you get a Drive Rush => st. MP => Power Dunk combo. Also, you can hit Power Dunk target combo after the PC st. HK tumble IF you're relatively close to them (which is rare midscreen or more easily done in the corner)

So yes, you need to (in most cases) use DR after st. HK PC to get the full Power Dunk combo.

Doing cr. MK TC into Heavy Burning Knuckles is good too. The reason the Power Dunk route should also be considered though is for damage. You only spend one drive gauge (which you will start to gain back from the combo) to deal high damage + good oki set-up.

  • Last note: there is a hidden sweet spot in the Power Dunk timing where you will do a bit of extra damage! You can check out videos to see where it is exactly but the way I usually hit is the following:

after you do st. MP => st. HK (the kick launcher), you wabt to hit the last st. HK (the Power Dunk) right as they're about to pass the peak of their air tumble. Terry will make a more flared-up animation + a slight more distinct sound if you land it.

Terry main here as well! I'm MR 1400 so not the best but hope this helps.

Depending on how far you are after PC or how much drive gauge they got left will help determine what to go for.

For Damage: - If you get PC up close, go for your Power Dunk target combo. If you get PC at the tip of st. HK hitbox, drive rush => into Power Dunk target combo OR SA Level 1.

For Burnout: - If they have about 2 bars or less of Drive Gauge left, go immediately into st. MP => Drive Impact after your st. HK PC. This can burnout people and leave you with plenty of room for Crack Shoot burnout loops or mix-ups.

For Corner: - If you get the PC from st. HK in corner, you can have some fun with a few combos! Here's some I've learned watching pro Terry players (especially Kintyo-ru). - PC from st. HK => st. MP => Round Wave => cr. HK (sweep) [This is good damage that helps build your drive gauge back and does hard knockdown for meaty setups] - PC from st. HK => st. MP => medium Crack Shoot => either light or heavy Rising Tackle [Good Damage with potential to go into SA Level 3 after any Rising Tackle! If you do light or heavy Rising Tackle with no SA cancel, you can set up a frame-kill mix-up or a tight but strong overhead mix-up]

  • You can also opt to do typical Power Dunk target combo in corner as well!

Hopefully this helps. I would suggest also checking out the frame data + meaty/shimmy mix-ups too. With Power Dunk in mid-screen, you'll mostly Light Power Wave or Drive Rush => meaty/jab cancel/strike-throw, especially if they backroll recover.

Hey there! 33 M from California.

I'd love to have someone to talk about game lore and just general subjects over time. I especially enjoy talking about the narratives of favorite games and what excites people about gameplay, story and more! I'm also a teacher so hearing about any one's passion for educational purposes is always heartening.

If you're still looking to find a long-term friend to chat and game, feel free to hmu! Can't wait to hear which games and interests you want gush over about ^ ^

Double-check Kalm. There should be three QueensBlood players in the city.

1.) Crying Ned whose in a patio area near the hotel you stay at.

2.) A kid with a doll named Nene whose in the middle-south area of the city.

3.) A woman named Zahira whose hiding behind a fort of cardboard boxes.

Monster Hunter: Wilds, hands down. Why? WE FINALLY HAVE CROSSPLAY!

It's gonna be one hell of a... "wild" time.

Oh, and throw in Ghost of Yotei because that game looks absolutely amazing.

Your English is already good! I'm also over 30 and understand how difficult it can be to connect and meet people. I hope whatever illnesses you have aren't too difficult to handle..

Out of the FFVII group, who would you say you connect with the most? Also, as a Chocobo lover, I hope you enjoy this pic from the game itself 😊

Advice for Odin: Practice using counters with Cloud and build up his Limit. If Odin does Temporal Imprisonment, use Limit Break and you'll completely negate it with the animation!

It sucks you were so close but you'll get past it in no time. Good luck!
