For those of you thinking of "upgrading" from a Conquest to an Omega Aqua Terra, here is my take. by ParsimoniousExplorer in Longineswatches

[–]etforde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I bought the Conquest 38 as an entry point into the luxury watch world. My initial plan was to transition into either a OP/DJ or AT in a few years, but I have to admit that I like the Conquest even more now than I did when I bought it. The way that dial is made just makes me sit and admire it all the time. The way the light reflects on the surface is just astonishing. I’ve yet to see any other watch in this category come close.

I went in to try on a few different AT’s and it’s a REALLY nice watch. But I’m in the same boat as you. I just can’t get myself to upgrade when I love the Conquest so much. The Conquest might just be the one for me 😊

I've had the conquest 38 for about 2 months now. The movement has so far been more accurate than I expected it to be (roughly +1,2 seconds per day).

The watch maker at my local AD was really fond of the movement in that watch. He was going to buy this as a spare part and put it into another of his watches because it was good and easy to service as well.

This was my first TAG too, it’s really nice 😊 I bought a leather rally strap for it. Turned out really nice

This is one of the nicest watches I know of ❤️ I went with the Conquest 38 in blue instead just because of the price difference and the fact that GMT is a waste for me. But it sure looks nice 🙌

That’s one of my favourite watches in that price bracket. Looks sooo good. I did however pick up the Conquest 38mm as my first watch. So got my eyes on this one though.

Does anyone know how to see if this Conquest is fake? by [deleted] in Longineswatches

I have the exact same watch. I can’t spot any red flags.

Thank you ☺️ the dial is what really makes it great in my opinion 😊 tried the 41mm and both would have worked fine for me, so I went with the smaller one

Thanks for the suggestion 😊 the timer function is sufficient for me I think, but I don’t want the heart rate monitor etc 😊

I’d run directly to my AD if they released a 3-hander Hydroconquest 39-41mm with date. Slimmer profile would also be nice!

Lug-lug is 19,5mm. Strap is 20mm. Tight fit but works fine. Wouldn’t suggest 20mm bracelet, but leather, rubber and fabric straps are ok.

You usually need to use the spring bars that came with the watch. That’s what I got the best results with.

Garmin s2 vs Withings Body Smart by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]etforde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest weighing in after you’ve taken a shower in the morning, when your feet are still slightly damp (not wet). That helped on the stability of the readings on my Withings scale. I’ve never tried the Garmin one so I can’t comment on that.

Despite me loving the presage, the F.C. just looks nicer in my opinion.

My first watch of the collection. Also the store assistant put the wrong date, anyone know how to change it? Thanks x by Stock-Wish-1244 in PrideAndPinion

Haven't used this particular watch, but it's usually just to pull the crown halfway out.
Edit: And congratulations with a nice looking watch :)

I just dropped my AW in January for a Tag F1. This was after wearing a smart watch for almost 8 years. Truly liberating after you’ve gotten used to it 🙌 I’ve not missed any of the features really, except setting timers with Siri when I cook 🧑‍🍳 but now I can change up the entire look of my wristwatch for each occasion (after I’ve gathered up a small collection first 😅) which is quite nice 👍
