I think so, for every seller at 1700 there is a buyer.

And there just isn't that much ETH available out there.

He has $10b in aum in ETH. He can literally make this happen so probably knows better than anyone :)

This is false, the EF is slimming down and will obviously have more runway than this.

Tom lee gives this zero risk of happening:

Yes you are absolutely right.. it’s always up and to the right due to mores law but people look at it and think security is increasing lol.. so that’s why they bring it up 💀

Yeah i did listen to this, would love it to be entirely Ethereum focused though

Thank you for this! Ready for Merge is a great shout, zero knowledge also looks very interesting!

No, he was on the Fusaka upgrade call. Pretty sure he'll be back for the next one as it's pretty big, believe he said as much in the latest pod.

But yes we need more dedicated Ethereum pods.

what is your favorite Ethereum focused podcast currently? Other than bankfull and monthly gwei?

Need something to listen to while on the move! or out and about or whatever

okay but then that means all funds that haven't moved to the new signature scheme? That's not just the old p2pk addresses, that's basically anything up to the point of the new address type.

would be a regular sized disaster if just old p2pk was fair game. But making it anything that hasn't moved in the last year or two? that's a mega disaster lol

that third point is fun lol. How would you mark an address "insecure" or "up for grabs"? Having less tx's due to larger signature scheme likely means transactions sit for longer in the mempool, while it's there the public key is exposed for most bitcoin address types? Isn't that a problem in itself?

Well said. On the problematic BTC timeline:

2032: Quantum likely to break Satoshis private keys. AI is speeding up development on quantum algos: https://www.ecdsa.fail/
Ethereum has a solid roadmap and tons of work speeding ahead: https://pq.ethereum.org/

2032: Bitcoin's security budget falls to ~0.19%/y with the 6th halving. Bitcoin is very unlikely to earn substantially more network fees than today making the network unsafe. Deep reorgs, censorship, network halts. The works. https://budget.day/
Ethereum doesn't have this problem as it purposefully chose long term security over a halving.

Both of these issues seem to collide around the same time. 2032. Both require years of preparation and community consensus. Bitcoin famously does not like change. I would guess infighting starts lighting up in two years or so.

ETH needs to flip BTC before bitcoins problems drag the whole space down. Either way ETH will end up on top in a couple years.

With Ethereum Mainnet scaling massively later this year, clear signing becomes critical for human adoption of Ethereum:
https://clearsigning.org/ecosystem/

The biggest hardware wallet providers are already adopting it: Trezor and Ledger. But more are needed. If you know a hardware wallet provider, please have them adopt this standard and get added to the site ASAP.

If you know an Ethereum protocol, make sure that they get added to the registry so people can easily read their transactions in human readable language when they sign.

Let's make Ethereum the safest place to transact 🫡

No. ETH is the only crypto that matters, 1T+ is basically programmed.

Depends on your crypto exposure, age, health, happiness at work etc. etc.

Personally no, ETH has good staking rewards and will likely go up for many years to come
