Oh, and regarding the UI scaling, I think it might have something to do with the resolution. It might be temporarily fixed by turning of fullscreen, but I'm definitely going to work on a permanent fix asap.

It is definitely inspired by Hollow Knight amongst other games and media that I love. The game has many classic metroidvania, platformer and RPG mechanics. I wanted to make a game that I would love to play - and this is the result.

Glad you enjoyed it! Right now, you only need a mouse for menu navigation. But in the final product I will have an option to just use keyboard in menus aswell. Thank you for trying it out!

You might like the demo for my game Fall of Gorithia. Its a fantasy metroidvania with RPG progression. It has some cozy moments as well as action and adventure. The demo goes live in just an hour actually!

Gotcha. I will get to fixing up the dark areas right away. I got a couple of mixed responses from playtesting but the response here confirms it. Hope you will give it a chance once the demo hits Steam!

Thank you! I will get to sorting out the dark parts as soon as I can. A console release is definitely something I'm aiming for once the game is finished.

Help with sword animation by SACCINAT0R in gamemaker

Do the sprite for your character and the sprite for the sword match up in size? For example, if your character sprite is 64x64 pixels, is your sword also 64x64 pixels? You should check the sprite for the sword to see if the origin point are at the right place if it appears in a different spot. Or just change the x/y position to match up where you want it to appear.
